Take care of you. Let's say you got hit by a bus at the start of a project, would you still feel guilty? Just because it's mental doesn't make it any less important

Hi Fishes, I have received an offer of 28 LPA for Lead I - Software Developer position at UST Global. I would be joining Bangalore location. I am Appian Developer with 6 years of experience. Since I did not get to interact with any UST employees (other than HR) during the interview process, could anyone tell me more about the company and its culture? PS: Would like to connect with Appian professionals working there, if possible.

Anyone ever lost a client unexpectedly? One of our client managers was unexpectedly killed yesterday afternoon in an accident. She was an incredible person and has two young children. I’m in shock and heartbroken. I cried when I got the news last night (the CTO sent an announcement with pictures). How did you handle the grief at work? Did your company do anything to honor them?

Also, what are some of the good things that y’all have seen come out of such a project so far?

I know the UK pays less but I am seeing differences of $80-100k for Advisory M at one of the Big 4. Why in the world are salaries so low? And don’t say healthcare. My healthcare is like $140/month for a PPO w low deductible. Plus taxes are less here. Makes the thought of a potential move over there hard :/

I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.
