Hiii! Just had my final interview and only got to ask one question because it was times up. Was hoping to use that time to show my excitement for the role and company. We used up the time discussing my role and him connecting it to role im applying for. At the end I only got to ask about company culture and quick goodbye. Why is it some companies make you reapply to a role when you’re towards the end of the interview process?

Do we always need to give all the rounds of the interview again irrespective of the fact that we had cleared all but one the previous time we appeared for the same company (could be 3 months or 6 months) ,or even if we had cleared all (but didn't take up the offer) , do we need to reappear again ?

Should be feel bad about possibly leaving my company? I’m about 2 years through a 3 year analyst contract and I’ve been interviewing at a different firm.

I like my current company and the people a lot, but the location isn’t ideal for me and comp is significantly below market. The guilt caused by the thought of leaving is killing me.

From the outside, I always thought of PE firms to be well-oiled machines where everyone is working hard but with a clear purpose. Now starting at an LMM as a senior associate I feel kind of lost. It’s chaos - every person above me wants something else and there are constant discussions, bickering and politics being played. Is this representative of other (LMM?) PE firms, or did I get unlucky? It feels like a tech startup lol.

Non MBB, finishing fin/acct MBA and looking to pivot into banking/pe. 10 yrs sales prior in unrelated field. 20 yrs military. MBA is non target school since military/state funded programs are free.

I have an offer for a PE Ops role and whilst comp is good it seems like they're hiring a pool of internal consultants to leverage for implementation projects within specific PortCos and therefore I won't be driving initiatives centrally - is this standard practice for Ops roles?

At this point I think I'll turn it down given I'm looking for something that operates more centrally (driving not implementing myself)
