I have worked at Allstate for almost 3 years. I am licensed in property and casualty insurance in 4 states and have my life license as well. I started off in the service team helping customers with active policies, went on to a supervisor role and now I write new policies and service active ones. I started off making 30k a year and got a raise to 36k after 8 months and haven’t gotten a raise since. I get under $40 for any policy I write for existing customers. I feel like I am greatly underpaid.

I often run into a former 6th grade (Health) student in the halls as I move every period to a new location to teach. Carrying a short discussion an elbow bump and away he goes. A bright ray of sunshine in my day. I choose the positive.... I’m thankful for students brighten my day 🔆

Need some advice - I’ve been weightlifting for around 250 days with maybe 15 total “rest” days. I usually spend around 2 hours at the gym, 1.5 hours of weightlifting (around 45 working sets, 9-10 different exercises). Recently I’ve kinda noticed that my mind/body feel a bit slower outside of the gym, and I wonder if this could be causing it. I haven’t done cardio simply because my heart/body/etc. are in great shape. I’m thinking of swapping weightlifting for a CrossFit routine. Age: ~30

Hi all, I’m a senior underwriter for for-hire/commercial auto with over 7 years of experience on both the carrier side and as a broker. I have worked on rollouts of new system, training, writing the content for a website and creating the content for social media pages. I am thinking about potentially changing careers. I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Has anyone else had issues attempting to pivot to a new career? I have on my LinkedIn I am only looking for roles within people coordination but I am constantly flooded with inmails about another sales assistant job & rude recruiters telling me it’s a waste of time to even attempt.

I am open that I am graduating next year with a BA in HR, and I’m looking to move to either tech or government in only that sector.

Internal corporate strategy folks: what do you actually do? I know "corporate strategy" is a sexy title everyone wants, and that these roles are usually full of ex-MBB types, but I have no idea what these people do daily.
Searching the Internet has been useless in trying to figure out what internal corp. strategy folks actually do. Is it mostly cranking out decks and program managing a bunch of different initiatives?

I just got back into IT full time in 2021, but am considering changing to UX Design or even Cybersecurity (I’ve also got experience as a background investigator). Anyone in either of these fields have any insight?

(I’ve also been doing narration as a side gig, it may stay that route if it ever takes off)

Thank you!
