What position are you looking for? There are good recruiters and LI is a good place to look at too! I have seen lots of success there.

Check your network for connections that can help you with introductions/recommendations. Look for job openings that interest you and reach out to the recruiter or people who work in that company asking about the internal culture, etc. Local events (workshops, talks, conferences) are good for networking too. I’ve moved countries and that’s what I’ve been doing. It’s a slow process though - at least it has been for me.

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!

For those that have left the Big 4 as a Senior Manager (Tax) and went in-house, do you regret it? Anything you wish you knew or you would share with someone that’s in a similar position? I love the work but the volume/lack of work-life balance is not something I’m okay with right now. I recently had a kid and want to spend time on weekend and nights without feeling guilty or a pay cut.

I know no one is expecting to bring in clients during this pandemic, but any general advice for how young associates can get an impressive and effective head start on business development that could actually lead to new clients? What do firms and clients actually care about (networking in and out of your firm, certifications, speaking engagements, etc)?

My school deliberately cut the number of classes that the specials teachers teach so that we could be building subs for quarantined and sick teachers (we are hybrid). So... I teach fewer classes (which is a relief because specials teachers teach way more classes than core teachers normally) but I'm pulled for most of my planning periods to babysit classes. I need my planning periods so I can redo my ENTIRE curriculum... and I just feel unappreciated, used, and nothing more than a babysitter.

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2
