Currently working on interview prep for a product manager role. Purchased the product alliance course and going through the content now. Ex consulting 🐠, now product mgrs, did you also read more books, content etc to learn core principles of pm to boost confidence in interview prep? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼
I’ve had countless interviews at a few agencies, all with 4-5 interviews taking months at a time to continue to receive the email “we went with another candidate but everyone loved your experience and thought you’d be great”. I feel so down right now, and I keep thinking it’s me. How do you stop feeling so discouraged? I’m still at my current company/role, I’m just not happy at all so looking to find something/someplace new.
Had an interview 2 weeks ago that went really well. Haven’t heard a yes or no just emails asking me to stay tuned. What does that mean? Am I on a waiting list?
Do people at Junior Levels not lead meetings in industry? I just got asked if I had that experience during an interview. I have to lead a meeting/lead a portion almost everyday. So it’s weird that I would get asked this question.
Interviewing from T2 to MBB, experienced hire. Anyone knows how much more difficult the interviews would be compared to entry-level interviews?
I have a final round interview with a hedge fund in the NYC area. Approximately $15bn AUM and 40 employees. I am meeting with the founder of the firm and was told we would be discussing comp. I just graduated from college this year and the role is business development associate. The hiring manager described it as a front office role. What salary range should I be expecting going into the meeting? What about bonus?
After graciously agreeing to help a candidate with a mock interview, I got stood up by this fine candidate 🤯 FML
I am currently a SA at EY-Parthenon on the West Coast and looking to case for MBB. Comment if interested.
Anyone know what Weil’s average hours are like given that they don’t have billable requirements? A lot of people say big law comparable but I know some people in big law shooting for 2000 and some shooting for 2600 and those are two very different worlds. Was considering applying to a role there but wanted to get a feel for what this really equates to.
Took me a long time to figure out: 1) don’t interview for jobs, interview the boss you will be reporting to 2) don’t count on your employer for anything ( including your finances) have 2 or 3 side
I’m applying to the pre-MBA MBB programs but am undecided between a non HSW M7 and Tuck with $. Does listing one school over the other have an advantage?
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Any thoughts on Morning Brew as a workplace? Love their newsletter and podcasts. I am super keen about the space but I'm not sure if it's worth the pay cut from Manager level in MBB
I interviewed for a job in a diff location and during interviews they asked me multiple times how I felt abt relocating. I said it was fine, but the more I think about it the less I’m open to relocating. I now have an offer from them, is there anyway to negotiate no relocation? They are remote until mid year 2021. I’m Happy to fly in on a monthly basis but I don’t want to move there.
Coming from tech, $500k TC. What level at MBB pays this much? Feeling the itch to get back on the road again.
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector. Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting. https://www.propublica.org/article/how-mckinsey-is-making-100-million-and-counting-advising-on-the-governments-bumbling-coronavirus-response
I am a recent graduate with Masters in Industrial engg. I graduated with a 3.97 GPA but I am unable to land any jobs. Is there anyone who can help me out with a referral or help me understand what to do in order to at least get connected with people from the same industry? I have been applying and connecting with people but no one replies back after I introduce myself. Any help would be much appreciated!!
Is zika still a concern in Mexico and the Caribbean? Anyone travel there with a pregnant significant other recently?
What’s the typical timeline between Financial Analyst and Sr Financial Analyst? Interviewing for the former right now and don’t know if the pay trajectory at Goog would surpass my current one at EY.
Hey 🐠, I’m trying to understand if I need to be looking for lateral exit opportunities from a compensation perspective. I’m a Manager in the M&A IT practice, 12 YOE (7 in Tech and 5 in Consulting). I am happy with the work I do and the people I work with are tolerable. New base salary is $178K starting this month. Asking because I’ve heard that people should keep jumping from one company to another in Consulting to have a competitive comp. Basically guys, is my compensation competitive?
What's going on with Facebook privacy practice hiring? A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. Has anyone here spoken to a recruiter yet? Or going through interview, TC conversations? Any insights will help!
I’m a second year BTA up for promotion to C this year. What roles/positions should I apply for? Hoping for possible $100K-110 pay. Mostly do functional and PMO work with CS background
I have a $1k referral credit for anyone who is moving to StuyTown and contacts me by Monday. BTW, StuyTown is awesome.
Trying to update my resume so I can start applying and interviewing to AAS positions from audit as an A3 but am having a lot of trouble on how to structure it and layout my experiences. Anyone willing to share their resume template with me? Willing to pay $20 🙏🏽
How much 💰 in your 401k? Include year as well.
Having my performance review soon. Have not met my billable hours last year due to lack of work. I have been very proactive and constantly emailed partners to inquire about more work. I will be a 4 year associate this year. Thinking to negotiate my level/compensation. Any advise?
I haven’t received any marketing emails from Tuck after I applied and interviewed. Anyone else experiencing this? Hoping this isn’t a bad sign
Anyone get acupuncture? (Chicago) I know sometimes it’s covered under our insurance. Where do you like to go?
Senior Account Manager (similar level as Senior AE) making $85K. Trying to figure out how much to ask for during this next review time; looking at an Account Director promotion.
Diversity Pattern I keep noticing: pitch decks/campaigns. Half of the photos are of white people.. and the other half are black. No indian, hispanic, muslim & asian representation. It feels incredibly unbalanced. 🧐
Worth going for delta platinum Medalian after gold .. vs starting routes on AA to make status?
Anyone have hertz discount codes? All I have is the Marriott one but it’s not giving much of a discount. Thanks!!
