If you apply to an audit client, how restrictive is it? Would you need to let your company know, even if you are just applying? I am in consulting so I have never been on an audit engagement. I hear if you do exit, you will have additional paperwork to fill but for the most part, is it easy/not a big deal?
Show of hands; who has been laid off because your agency lost a big client? Also, when you interviewed for your next job did you feel comfortable saying that? And do other agencies understand?
I owe a lot of my career to the PPD on my project, but she's making me eat hours like CRAY. Worry that stirring the pot will ruin the relationship, honestly is it worth it to nurture the relationship?
Has anyone from MBB worked at the same client where there is one of the big 4 ? How are the dynamics between the two in that engagement?
Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?
Has anyone ever actually used the word synergy in a client deck and it didn’t get immediately rejected?
Is it just me or is being a manager way easier than being an SC or below? I feel like it’s so easy and mindless 80% of the time. Especially after a project is up and running. Caveat: I have a great tech lead who owns that part and a great team to deliver. Obviously this won’t always be the case. I’m looking for M horror stories
Does anyone pass the merchant/credit card fees to their clients when the client pays online?
Ladies I am 35 weeks pregnant and going on maternity leave in 2-3 days. Politics on my project has led to poor project snapshots. What should I do?
I have an 84 year old client with about 100K in GIC's expiring in 2 weeks. I want to be cautious and put aside some cash for medical bills should he fall sick. What do you guys do with clients 80+?
At my client site 5days a week (gps) , and home office has little to no consulting presence. Rolling off around August and looking for a supply chain related project (commercial). Advice!
Accepted offer from Northrop Grumman. I have TS clearance with polygraph but joining an unclassified project. Do you think they will crossover my TS in the future? NG assured me they will transfer TS.
Anyone dealt with colleagues with BO during a project? Been over 10 months and conference rooms at client site stinks!
Client just confided over drinks that she found an MD on AshleyMadison...#TMI #WhatToDo
I'm trying to buy a new carry-on size suitcase but am having trouble finding one that fits my requirements. Does anybody know a four wheel spinner bag that's: 1: decent quality build, particularly wheels and handle 2: has a lid that opens and one large compartment (soft or hardside but I don't like the two half clamshell hardsides) 3: looks decent (doesn't have to be fancy/designer, just something I'm not embarrassed to take to a client office) 4: under ~$300
Which firms are delivering and prioritizing climate and sustainability client work (decarbonizing, sustainable supply chains, renewables, etc.)?

MS in Economics/Finance or MBA? Trying to get company to pay for one and jump ship after fulfilling the two year commitment after graduation. Thoughts?
I might be placed in change management consulting by my firm, thoughts on how that move early in my career (2 YOE) will affect me? Is change management interesting, does it have good exit ops, etc etc. Firm does a lot of tech implementation projects if it matters
I am a background check away from putting in my notice. KEEP grinding if you’re miserable and/or have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. This took a lot of ghosting and interviews+offer letters being taken off the table due to COVID. Stay humble and you’ll be next. Take a midday walk and schedule some coffee meetings to expand your network and stay sane.
How many details do you give when sending your team the “baby is sick - can’t come in today” note? Always feel guilty writing it despite (or because of) how often it happens.
Anyone at the PCAOB? How are the benefits? 401k, any pension, medical premiums and provider (BCBS/UHC)? Did you find their compensation package to be competitive?
Got an informal offer to join a client (manufacturing company). 240k base, 60k cash bonus target (can shrink or double depending on company metrics) + 50k annual equity (3 yr rolling vesting). Director level which has just one additional layer between me and the Exec Committee. My contact already internal negotiated extra vacation and is working on my behalf for a signing bonus. Is it worth trying to negotiate base? Or is this already a strong offer?
Need advice. My sons have kids ATV things. More hard core than a power wheels but not true ATV (they go 8 mph I think). My kids were riding in our culdesac with husband watching. Husband and oldest came inside for a few minutes and in that time, neighbors tiny 4yo jumped on his and crashed on our driveway. Broke her arm. 😩 We would never have allowed her to ride and her parents NEVER supervise when she’s outside. Are we dicks for not offering to cover some/all of medical bills? I don’t feel
I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.
When your number 1 company gives you an interview right after you receive an offer from your number 2 company...has anyone encountered this? How do you push the date back?
I’m trying to figure out what my in hand paycheck would be after all the ore tax deductions (benefits, 401K, etc) when I work in NYC and live in NJ. Is there a calculator that can help with this?
Wondering if anyone had moved to consulting from PhD? Any challenges you foresee in filing green card under EB1A independently. My company is not willing to file for green card at this stage. Any recommendations on lawyers?
Got an offer from uber. Taking a pay cut on the base side but compensated with the equity portion where it is a little lower in aggregate than my current salary. Thoughts?
That awkward moment when you're sitting in Orals for an RFP and the client says they don't understand what role you've been brought in to discuss...
The points guy always gave me the creeps
For those that have worked in TAS or Financial due diligence, what have exit opportunities been like for you or others that left the service line?
Ok guys excited- putting in my resignation next week. Don't want to piss ppl off/exit with grace but these ppl in my practice could give two shits about me so def finding it hard to think about
Getting the vaccine tomorrow morning, just hit 17 weeks. SUPER nervous thanks to my conspiracy theorist dad but excited to protect myself and my baby girl!
