Senior to Manager-level Data Scientists, what is the minimum set of skills and experience you require someone to have in order to train them to be a Data Scientist?

I have a handful of people from BI and Marketing who want to learn how to be a "Data Scientist" where some of them have stronger SQL knowledge and ability than others, but some of them have more exposure to languages like Python and R, and a little bit of machine learning exposure.

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

Had an interview today, for RN OnCall position. This is an extremely difficult position, but I bring not only a preference to work the hours they need but the experience and credentials to qualify for the upper range of the salary (RN, MSN, CHPN, 5 years hospice experience). I asked for the range and he gave the range then immediately stated that I would qualify for mid range. My goal is to find a similar position to the one I’m working now and add 20-30% to my income, the high range would meet

I was two weeks late for my period and was going to take a pregnancy test this weekend. However this morning I felt cramps and had a little bleeding..... I still have some mild cramps that go in and out. I'm so scared... Would a test be accurate? Could I have miscarried? I did message my doctor but they're closed until next week.

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. What are the jobs that pay really well and require the least effort and hours. I don’t want to do this anymore.

Currently a big 4 consultant and got an offer from FAANG for a strategy and ops role that would bring my total comp up 60%. I’m really grateful for the offer and really excited, however, I am also interviewing with MBB. It has always been a goal of mine to work for tier 1 strategy firm as I’ve always felt on the outside looking in at big4. I feel like most exit ops from strategy would be S&O industry roles but still can’t get these MBB firms out of my mind. Am I just overthinking this?

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good?
