What I have done is put calendar tasks on my work calendar for specific follow up with clients. Solely for the proper of relationship building. Keeping in touch with clients can be crucial for return business. Guess who they're going to tell first if there's an issue? The person who calls once a month to check in. Not the person who never checked in.

You have an SO, close friends or family members you’re actively engaged with? What do you to keep those relationships and grow them? Do that.
Basically it boils down to showing interest, remembering things, and doing nice things for them that would be appreciated without being asked. We are all just people.
