I am in lot of confusion right now. On 5th of Jan was my scheduled joining but didn't received any invite link and when enquired got to know that my BGC is in progress. I checked with all the employers of mine and they seems to complied with all the requirements from TCS, still it is in progress. So I am not sure what to do? Please help me.

Can people working side gigs as consultants receive deferred compensation? Or has anyone seen other creative, legal ways that consultants can work now and get paid later? I have a side gig that could end at any time, and I don’t envision it going into 2022. Good problem to have, but the side gig is bumping me into higher tax brackets this year, while next year, I envision I’ll be back to lower brackets, so I was wondering if there’s a way to delay some of this compensation to next year.

Ok travelers, what was your most surreal experience on a flight?

Guy just opened the cabin door to try to get on my flight after flashing his boarding pass through the window to cabin crew. Immediately arrested. So far, nothing even comes close for me.

Can you still get promoted on time if you don't meet the utilization metric during promotion year?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

A recruiter at another B4 gave me a number much lower than what I’m currently making. Should I tell them how much im making now, which is admittantly at the very top of the SC band, or counter with a range that’s more than I’m making? I hesitate to just throw out current salary + 20% bc I’d be asking for almost $190k for a SC role and I know that would be quite a huge ask for a SC @ B4, even for tech
