I’m waiting for my background check as I accepted an offer for Remote Licensed Insurance Customer Service Rep. While I’m a 1099 for my current role, I still haven’t told them I am leaving for a full time role that can change my life. It’s a small agency, and I’ve gotten close with the director. She’s the employment reference I gave; I’m a nervous that when they receive the call to verify employment, my days will be difficult. I’d hate to be let go before I start with LM. Thoughts? What are people's thoughts on "starting over" with regard to being a bit older and having kiddos?
My partner and I met 3 yrs ago, we're 42 and 44. We both have one child from our previous relationships, his is 19 and mine is 13. We are thinking about having one together but not sure.
Benefits, drawbacks, etc. Anyone have thoughts or experiences to share?
Incoming grad in May 2022. I got an interview at Alphasights, and Arbolus Technologies in NYC, and completing the Accenture assesment right now. Can someone give me insight into the salary in NYC or in general for either of these companies? Any advice on where else I'd be qualified to apply? I'm a Social Work major and I've a got a ton of healthcare experience as a medical assistant, research projects (was pre med). I have a great GPA and great EC's, and some awards. No other experience :/
I have an opportunity for CSM role with a healthcare tech company in the Mountain View and they offering 90k with 20k variable. When I chat with the team they say that the metrics behind the variable change almost every quarter. This would be a step back in terms of salary, but they are offering equity and growing 150% YoY. The 110 all in seems like a low ball?!? Any good questions I could ask to better asses comp here?
What firm has the best benefits? I know most firms don't match 401ks, but do any allow mega backdoor Roths? Heavily subsidize healthcare (either paying all or most premiums or large HSA subsidies) or gym memberships (I'm talking like 80% equinox memberships)? Do any firms have official sabbatical policies for associates? Long vacations? Actual 1800-2100 hour expectations (corporate) rather than being told you're below average at 2250?
“We have an thrilling career possibility in the open job of Package Manager in our growing logistics organization. We offer a very lucrative starting salary with other benefits. “
24 yr old, 110k TC, maxing out Roth IRA and Roth 401k, no debt or large expenses. Also have ~35k sitting in a bank account. What should I do with that money?? Am I better just sitting on it for a while then watching it shrivel up in my brokerage account?
I am currently covering for someone on paternity leave. This means I've doubled the Sales Managers I'm supporting as well as the clients I'm supporting. I don't mind doing the work but I'd like to ask to be compensated for the increased workload. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you go about it? I'm relatively new to Tech so I'm not sure how to start the conversation.
Today I was officially diagnosed with adult adhd. I can’t begin to explain how relieved I am.
It turns out things that I’ve considered personality defects are actually symptoms of this disorder. Interrupting people, saying inappropriate things, swirling on a topic for days: all issues I’ve battled with since childhood and finally have an answer.

If I've maxed out my TFSA, should I continue investing through an RRSP or a personal investment account?
For context, I also have a good pension. My main concern is that while the RRSP will be nice to lower my taxable income now, I'm worried when I retire I'll have to withdraw too much from both the RRSP and pension. Thoughts?
Does anyone work or know someone works in banner health in Arizona? Especially the banner desert in Mesa, Arizona. Is it a good company to work? Or do you know anyone work as a registered dietitian in that area or that company? What is the salary range and any ideas how the environment is in that hospital? Thank you a lot!
Where do you all think healthcare technology will breakout next? Still waiting for a magic pill that gets rid of all my belly fat 😂
Any healthcare consultants here that transitioned from clinical roles? I’m in the middle of interviewing for an analyst position in HC for Huron. I have 6 YOE as an OT in the hospital settings and also experience as a rehab coordinator.
Have you felt the switch was a good pivot for your career? I’m excited about the potential to join the consulting/business world but wondering what it’ll be like to switch to a entry level role. Would love input from others in the consulting world as well!
Currently contributing 18% to savings (8% 401k and 10% to savings account) and also paying $2250/month for grad school. I have a healthy savings balance and am not expecting and need to use it anytime soon. Is is ok to cut back on what I put into my savings account while I’m in school?
Feeling stretched thin and have always had the impression it’s bad to not be contributing to savings regularly. Thinking if I’m paying for school it’s ok to be less aggressive with savings. Looking for input.
What do UX/UI designers (5+ years of exp) charge hourly these days? Thinking of picking up some freelance.
I have given Credit Suisse exam on 22nd May. And it was good but till now i haven't received any call or message from them. Whom should I connect now?
Anyone else heard about the mother's day strike wrt Roe being overturned? I want to support but I think I would for sure get fired if I stopped working a whole week out of the blue. It feel like I should do more than pause my shopping and spending for a week
Hey everyone, I’m currently an environmental engineer, but my first job was at Accenture for 3 years as a functional tester mostly. It’s been 4 years since I left Accenture and I’m looking to get back into the tech and/or consulting space, but not as a tester. What path would you all recommend where I can be hired above entry level without having directly relevant experience?
Anyone know anything about Petrol in Burbank?
I proposed to my long-term partner last year on a weekend away, but it was kind of an impulsive decision on the weekend. In the moment it was great and she said yes. However, looking back I have huge regrets about how I went about it.
I ended up feeling uneasy with my decision and we had therapy to work through my doubts soon after. We are now we're in such a better place now and planning our wedding/future together.
She confided that the ring reminds her of the doubts and the proposal.
Got drilled by client manager on a status call. Ugh! This makes me doubt my decision to come back to consulting. What happened to just being kind to others?

To my fellow Chicago Data Scientists, I’m trying to understand the market rate for a Sr. Data Scientist position atm. I was going to ask $140k-$150K for a base based on what I’ve seen on LinkedIn. That too low? Too high? Thanks in advance!
