The first airline to reinstate change fees will get such a bad PR blow.
Wow 22 seats. The flight might have been originally scheduled on a 737/A319 or similar size plane and was switched to an E-Jet when demand dropped last year.
United already said change fees are gone “forever”, hopefully they are the trendsetter.
I mean... this is the company who beat an old man because he wouldn’t get off a plane... and the ceo supported it....
My money is on never. I don't see how an airline can justify making people who may be sick choose between traveling while contagious and paying exorbitant fees. But maybe I'm an optimist 😏
I never understood change fees for flight tickets. Hers why;
I can buy a $1000 mattress, have it shipped across the US (probs costs a lot), use it for 100 days and then decide I dont want it anymore for a full refund.
This is the level of customer service Gen Z and Y expect. Why cant you return a ticket that you bought and haven’t used any service yet.
Also, if you change the flight, it typically goes up in price anyway by selecting a higher fare!
There will likely have to be some rules around it, like its free until 72 hours before the flight or something to help them plan
