Pretty hard to unplug as a controller for a small company, so I'm not sure more PTO would help you? Unless you're saying you want to go for a lower level role in a bigger company that offers more PTO. Most places offer 10-15 days and increase that based on tenure.

You can negotiate your PTO in your offer.

I’m not sure if some of you other firms have heard but EY America’s recently switched to “unlimited PTO”. I want to know your thoughts and if you’d like your firm to do it. We do have 19 paid holidays up from 12 last year.

PSA: if you’re going out on vacation, do it properly. Help me help you. I don’t want to bother you while you are out. But you told me you were doing all this stuff and since you are a midlevel and generally good at your job, I believed it was getting done. You should have either finished all of it (talking about stuff you said you were handling a month ago) and/or sent me a clear email saying “I didn’t have time to handle XYZ if you could take over”. I can’t micromanage everything. 🙏🏽

It's anyways great getting a Christmas Eve email from your partner, esp if he's implying you'll be on site Monday Dec 26th despite it being a holiday.

We have a hollywood glam themed holiday party but it’s outside so I want to wear my long sleeve dress, but it’s yellow. Is that too spring-y? The style fits the glam vibe but not the holiday vibe. I know most of my team is not dressing to theme but I know yellow may be jarring at this time of year…thoughts? I just don’t wanna be cold 😩

Been working remote since the beginning of the pandemic. Back in the office in January and trying to finalize childcare. Recruiters connecting with me for new job opportunities. Scared to even consider a shift out of my current company where I may have some flexibility bc I've been there for so long, but they're dragging their feet with giving me a well deserved raise. So unsure what to do. Shift now, or cont to negotiate $ at current job or hit the road and let the childcare figure itself out.

I have an EB-3 petition in progress. Waiting for my EAD/AP card, courtesy of being current for 2 glorious months. But the dates have now regressed, and EB-2 is moving forward faster. So trying to get an EB-2 application going. But Deloitte is refusing to do that unless I get promoted to SM. Currently an M. Any advice? Just stick with my EB-3 and wait for my SM promotion? Get a different job? Anything else I could consider?
