Any big law paralegals/atttnys feel overwhelmed by their work to the point that they feel sick when they login? I have been a corp paralegal for 3 yrs; it’s always been challenging, especially as someone with ptsd and adhd but it’s getting worse. Support staff are unappreciated, and we are understaffed. I am the most senior and relied on heavily for training, in addition to client work. I billed 140% over the requirement in 2020. Does anyone relate? Did you survive there or quit to survive?

Any tips for corporate paralegals looking to get their foot in the door? (“RUN” doesn’t count.)

In the door of a big law firm? If so, I would identify firms you’re interested in and find someone in a paralegal position at that firm on LinkedIn. DM them to introduce yourself and ask if they have time to chat over the phone or answer questions over email. At least 1/3 of the folks I’ve interviewed spoke to someone on LinkedIn before submitting their apps. I’ve referred someone for the job after talking to them on LinkedIn and they got an offer. Make sure your resume and cover letter are free of errors. At least at my firm, there is a desperate need for paralegals w/ experience so be sure to talk about that experience in your cover letter and interview. In your interview, make sure you get across that you’re willing and able to work long hours, demonstrate humility, confidence and a genuine interest in the firm and interviewer’s experience; ask thoughtful questions. Send a follow up thank you to each interviewer.

Needing help on deciphering my true salary for the time being. I graduated at 17 with an associate’s in Cyber Defense. The company I am with has me listed as a field service specialist(6 month intern, 4month full time), however, I’ve picked up on different roles like project manager, systems admin, project engineer etc. I’ve been getting good experience but at what point do I need to discuss salary or move on? Background check question. Had a grad school project on my resume with a company. Project was 8 months work with company and 3 months of prep training. This was considered a volunteer role and I have no W2s or anything associated.

On my BGC I listed the 11 months listed above. My previous resume listed this under my education, so I never had exact dates. Grad school was several years back.

Q1 is this kosher to list 11 months?
Q2 anything I should do to clarify?
Q3 does MBB care about vol?
