My manager gave me a copy of Product Management’s Sacred Seven when I joined Microsoft and I found it super helpful. The premise is the FAANG PM authors teach you the 7 core skills (design, econ, psych, ux, ds, law & policy, and growth) that you need to know to be a great pm and get a top PM job. Its surprisingly thorough and meaty at 700 pages but well worth the time investment.

Is it worth it to pursue infrastructure/network administration esque jobs while in college? I am getting stressed seeing not many job openings in my area and the pay is very low compared to programming jobs. As much as I enjoy this side, I’m not sure if it’ll be worth it in the long run. Thanks a lot in advance

Hi! I’m a generalist looking to get more involved in sustainability. As I continue to learn more about the space, I’m thinking about career exits from management consulting into something more meaningful to help the earth. Any advice on this transition / potential roles I can work towards? Thank you!

Hello, I am a Linux system engineer and have been working in Oracle engineered systems from past 10 years. I got some exposure to oracle cloud but it is so difficult to get more exposure in oracle projects to build knowledge and my experience. In the Job portals , its so rare recruiters asking for oracle cloud. Looks like canada do not have much oracle projects. Hence I learned AWS. Want to make use of my knowledge but how?B4 Advisory teams do not have good oracle practice. Agree?

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.

Any tips for note taking? My biggest struggle is retaining information communicated verbally. To compound the issue, I’m a millennial and was never taught note taking, short hand, or cursive (outside a week long lesson to write our names) in school. It takes me forever to write out notes and while I’m writing I miss everything that’s being said. I have no problem putting in the work to learn techniques but can’t find helpful resources.

Hi Folks,
I am working for NetApp Client, Bangalore however My base Location is Hyderabad, and I have heard from a couple of NetApp Employees that they are planning to resume offices by May.
My questions are:
1. If UST is planning to bring employees back to office?
2. If they call will I be asked to relocate to Bangalore as my client's location is Bangalore or will I be working from Hyderabad only?

PS: My manager has left the organisation and I am the sole person from UST in my project.

I’m a clinical manager at a small practice( one provider) in which we are extremely understaffed. I am currently juggling multiple roles of front desk and surgery scheduling duties plus managerial duties. My pay is 22/hr. Just wanted to ask if that is a fair pay, because lately I’ve been feeling burnt out and underpaid for the amount of work i put in.

My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent that could be deployed, there is a big bias against consultants. Everyone wants “operators,” but I feel every board could also benefit from one current or former consulting partner. But sadly, that’s not the way the external world looks at things...
