Pay much lower than HCL us. Work from what I see varies. Some do barely 50 some so 80. Depends on the team. Quality is worse p eady to be high performer compared to the US

Pay is low. Work about the same if not more. Unless there are other reasons (ie non financial), I would not recommend a transfer.

Former Canadian PwCer who also did a secondment in NYC here. Pay is shit compared to CoL in Canada, especially in smaller markets because there are fewer gigantic clients dumping millions a year on fees. Work was pretty much the same from what I saw in terms of hours, methodology, quality, etc. Culture varies by team/engagement but was similar. TLDR it's the same; work 80 hours a week to make the same as the client's payroll clerk.

funny

Salary is less, but their bonus is higher. The standards for quality aren’t as high, but if on a public job you could still work quite a bit.

Hi! I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. Also, when I ask my boss what they’d like to see, I don’t ever get a clear answer. (Cont’d in comments)

If audit firms are truly meant to be impartial when auditing companies, why haven’t regulating bodies regulated audit fees. That way the choice between firms would be based on service and expertise rather than fees. It could be something as simple as a base of the % of the average market cap over the last 3 years and then adjusted for industry or other factors.

Bit of background: I recently turned 25, have been an auditor now for 4 years (same firm from intern to staff to senior), and have given my firm and my clients 110% of me at all times.
Lately, I’ve been wanting to quit altogether (burning out) and try out a career that has always been more of a “dream”. I can’t be the only one feeling this way so I’m reaching out to my people - is this just a weird quarter-life crisis or is it actually valid & reasonable?

The manager in on my engagement has a bad reputation for treating staffs badly. I found out that many staffs felt uncomfortable with the manager’s style of communication as well as always blaming on staffs instead of taking responsibility. For example, a staff sent out the sample selections and manager reviewed it but later found out that there was an error but instead of taking responsibility, the manager blamed the senior who had nothing to do with the selection process.
