Anyone else looking to negotiate full-time telework, or has successfully?

I work in public sector and though my position has been entirely remote, I was surprised to find that they're requiring me back in soon after 2 years. I was hoping to move closer home to care for a family member, so I think I should attempt to negotiate or move on to a full time telework job. Anyone else negotiating this or planning to make a leap?

Those of you who left for industry, what do you work towards in your role? I was reflecting on my time in public and there was always something, whether it was a new section in the file, getting more client contact, getting invited to a big golf outing, running the jobs, managing the jobs, etc. I worry that leaving would leave me bored and not motivated to hit any sort of goal. I’m burnt out and worry that I’m making a rash decision lol. Thoughts?

I lead TA in an indian startup. Currently have an offer of HR head in another smaller startup. Also, I am getting few TA head offers in other startups. Comp would be similar in these roles.

Is it advisable to move to a full HR role or should I stick to my core expertise area of TA.

I have joined Nagarro almost a year now as a senior architect. However, I see lot of issues here. The company is great so far as employee friendliness is concerned. It may be rated as the top most company in that regard and that is why attrition is well within control. However, there are issues:

1. Project Allocation - allocated to projects without fitment with the role or skills. No internal job portal

2. Lots of seniors in bench for long time

3. No way to give company feedback

I applied for few SA roles at AWS after getting the SAA certificate and some badges like the “WAF” and “Advanced Migration”. I also optimized my resume recently trying to match what AWS would look for, but I did not get any 1st call or screening interview!

They said this will be it for a RIF. (I hope so but don’t trust them.) 20 opted in, 35 moved to another position in the Firm and 15 were being let go. That makes 70 total when they told us only 60 people would be impacted.

EA RIF @KPMG is over!! Condolences to my colleagues who must move on. I was spared and want to cry now that I can stop putting up this strong front but still numb.

Why am I not getting interviews? I have 13+ YOE supporting three executives simultaneously. I feel good about my resume reflecting my experience/skills, I also tailor my resume to each job posting. I’ve been looking for work since April and I’ve gotten maybe three recruiter calls and that’s it. Im trying not to tell myself I should just apply to any and everything (admin asst jobs, customer service jobs) but I’m getting desperate. My biggest regret is staying at my last job for so damn long.
