Looking for career advice!
Im a new starter in FDD as a Senior, qualified and am sitting for CFA L2. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right to maximise my chances of landing a FO role in a PE/Fund or ER/M&A role at an BB/EB.
A few I've heard so far:
- Get infra deals exp
- Network aggressively
- Leave within 1 yr

Email them saying "after further consideration, this role doesn't seem to be the right fit. I'm formally withdrawing my candidacy."

Agreed! Better to do it now than do get all the way thru to an offer, if you know you’re not going to take the job. Doing it now, they’ll likely assume you’ve gotten another offer and are accepting it.
If you know you don't want the role, dont wait til the actual phone screen to let them know. Reach out ahead of time with an email or phone call and let them know. They'll be much more likely to maintain a relationship with you for future roles/less likely that you'll burn a bridge with that specific recruiter/team.
In that case I might go through the call as normal then reach out later with an email just to be safe.
