^what of OP will be the primary caregiver

Thanks for the advice. Fortunately I will not be the main caregiver. Main concern is around stigma or any consideration for getting on projects that will require travel. The last couple weeks closer to the due date I will have to work remote, so that may sway engagements leads to pick one candidate over another...

like

You should probably tell them 2 mos before the due date at the latest, especially if you're going to wfh a few weeks before the due date. If that affects your staffing, just suck it up. It is what it is. Waiting till the last minute to spring it on your project is never a good idea and will look badly on you.

like

Congrats, OP. That's special news. 3-4 months is the norm because that's when the pregnancy becomes more stable, so couples are comfortable and confident to share the news. But really it's whatever you're comfortable with. Generally speaking, the earlier you notify work after the 3 month mark the better, so everyone can plan around your absence. And do yourself a favor... be selfish for once and put your life ahead of work. Protect your paternity leave and use all of it. You will regret it later if you don't.

None , no one cares , you arent the ceo- take it easy

Not like it is you

And more importantly, you won't be the one needing to take a maternity leave, so don't stress😌

Tell them when you are ready. It's really easy at D

My 22 month old son has been extremely violent recently, mostly towards his father. He bites, scratches and hits my husband a lot, often unwarranted, and once in a while, does the same to me. He is also very aggressively shaking his head back and forth when he doesn’t want to eat anymore and swipes food away that he doesn’t want. It’s pretty monstrous. Not sure if this is normal for his age or if we should start looking at behavioral therapists.

EY Parental leave question: how many weeks were you actually out? When I took my leave 3 years ago, I counted total of 21 weeks of leave. That’s including one firm winter holiday week. I remember I initially thought I would be back after 16 weeks, but then in the middle of my time off I got an email from Leave Team with the breakdown and it actually was 21 weeks. Can someone who took leave recently tell me the actual number of weeks?

Today, I got up, made coffee, changed and fed the baby, prepped a presentation, forgot my 6yo’s Zoom class, got her up and on the Zoom class, presented ugly news to my MD, did a school drive-by parade, fed the kids lunch, met with my directs, prepped the follow ups from the MD presentation, taught 4 homeschool lessons, said goodbye to my mentor, prepped for a pitch, cooked dinner, made my weekend to-do list, gave two baths, and scooped poop out of one bath. It was a slow day.

What is your HH income, age of your kids and how much do you spend on childcare per year including summer camps etc ? I am a recent single mother with 2 kids ( 3 years , 9 months ) and childcare takes 50% of my take home. Utilities, food etc takes remaining 50% with almost nothing to spare. Trying to predict how long I can do this etc. any tips would be helpful ? My ex pays the mortgage which is 50% of childcare right now. I have a nanny 9 to 5. I save zero and it scares me .

How do you gracefully opt out of the many “extra” costs in your school? Examples: team Halloween costumes (an expectation at my school), team shirts for every conceivable special day, each grade is assigned a pitch-in date to serve 80 staff (that’s pricey when most teams have just 5 teachers), week-long secret Santa with each day a specific theme (like “gift card Thursday”), gifts for every new baby & wedding….I politely declined the white elephant exchange & now I’m “not a team player.”

This bowl has helped me through some very dark times, and I come back to get more perspective again. In 2020, we went through IVF and had 4 embryos of grade good enough to transfer. We transferred the best quality one and thankfully, it was a success. We stored rest of the three embryos. I do want another baby but my pregnancy and delivery was quite rough and my body won’t be able to handle it immediately and probably for another year or so. Anybody in similar situation? I am 37 if that helps.
