Not sure how non US citizens get it but I would definitely go through the significant effort to get it.
You just have to take into consideration how much time you're going to spend at the security line, depending on the airport that you're flying in/out of. Before having PreCheck, I would arrive 2 hours prior just to make sure, especially on holiday weekends.
Precheck is not that faster at all
BCG1 what fly over states are you flying to? TSA pre has saved me so many times. The only time I find it not worth it is if I’m flying to somewhere like Indianapolis or St. Louis
Depends on which airport you fly out of
Certain citizens of some countries can apply for global entry which includes pre check you should get that. I know the Germany, UK and India are on the list. https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1035/~/global-entry-program---who-can-apply
Agree, I have global entry as a non citizen, and it’s the best thing ever! I also have clear - the combination makes it a complete breeze through airports most days!
I have global entry as a visa holder...best thing ever!
Just get Clear and you should be fine. Granted it’s significantly more expensive but is easy to get and for the airports that don’t have Clear are usually pretty easy to get through. Clear + Precheck is the way to go through
I got it as a non-US Citizen, was a green card holder and it was pretty painless
I don’t
🙋🏼♀️ just factored in more time for security and opted for smaller airports, if possible
currently at DFW terminal D, no wait at all for priority line if you’re OK not using pre-check but ~10 minute wait for pre-check
Totally personal preference though.
It is worth significant effort
I traveled every week without one for 6 months. Now I got one as a non us citizen not permanent resident.
Use your priority lane well. In some airports it’s faster than precheck. I always arrive 40 mins before flight time without missing it. (Except for United from EWR! Need to arrive an hr before at least)
You don't want to be the new kid waiting in the security line when the rest of your team zips through pre check
