Any CPAs here who later took the CFP that can share their experience? How many hours did you study? How many months ahead? Did you take the alternative route bypassing the courses? What did you use to prepare (Ex Dalton, Kaplan, etc)? How did it compare to the CPA exams?

Getting ready to take the test in July, I am using Kaplan and compared to the CPA the capstone project was a breeze and the study material so far is nothing difficult just new. I have a friend who is a CPA and CFP who used Kaplan and will say the same. He said the insurance portion was the hardest, as he has never been exposed to any of that. I plan to stop when busy season comes around this spring but after that plan to study for 10 weeks (less than 15 hours a week)

I am hesitating to take lead role. But for my experience (8 YOE) I will have to take up that role at least in my next switch.

Could you please suggest me how can I come out of this fear. I am afraid of taking lead role because of below things.

1. Taking ownership for entire team deliverables.
2. Had to attend every requirement call and as well as technical review calls. (When BA is not good, need to provide acceptance criteria points).
3. Providing and justifying resource/work estimates.

I don’t know whether I want to pursue Auditing or Tax. I’ve done 3 summer internships with Deloitte and am currently in a tax internship with a local boutique firm. I realized I hate doing individual returns and much rather work with financial statements. I’m not sure if this means Auditing would be a better fit for me because I enjoy analyzing and working within financials. I would honestly just pick the more financially rewarding career with better post-big 4 options. Any thoughts?

C#,

React,
DevOps / Ansible,
Or more Azure Synapse & Databricks
Which of these languages / technologies is good for my future in tech? Or does it matter?

Deloitte GPS Business Analyst vs Mercer Health Consulting Analyst?

Deloitte's offer is 7K more and in a cheaper area. Equal interest in both jobs, slight preference for Mercer for people + culture. Leaning towards Mercer because I graduate in Dec and can start in Jan vs having to wait until next summer for Deloitte + location (although higher COL)

Concerns:

Exit opportunities
Pigeonhole-ing myself into health consulting / How hard would it be to join Big 4 in a year or two if I don't like it

Another thing is I was an immediate joiner as I had left my previous organisation 3 months ago so I couldn't wait to think about this offer.

But now I think it's low, what do you think please let me know and suggest.
