Sales engineers, or any one in a Presales tech engineer role. How do you deal with a sales rep who used to be a a sales engineer? I know that is vague. I have been doing this for a while. I even dabbled in multiple sales roles at smaller companies. My issue is not agreeing with their approach at times. It could be a clash mostly in style. Might be my ego. Just wanted to a chat going. Side note. I mentor folks who are starting as SEs but sometimes the mentor needs to be the mentee.
I have made huge progress in my current role where I make (65k) yearly and have been with for almost a year. It’s a WFH position but I have to attend the conferences I lead. Due to the immense workload I have been taking on, I asked my manager if I would be considered to be promoted to a manager position they are hiring for (who will be doing the same thing I am doing) She told me to wait another year since that is where they are aiming to push me towards. I feel demotivated but I love it here.
Hello 👋 Do you want to be referred to Accenture? DM me the job posting link from the Accenture website and your résumé.
How does anyone actually find a new job anymore? I'm so desperate to leave the current company I work for but I have to balance being the sole earner and figuring out what values and beliefs I'll sacrifice for the paycheck. And that's even assuming I can get an interview. Anyone have any tips? Or ideas? At all??
Any opportunity in the west coast area (SF, LA, SJ, Seattle) for a senior consultant role?
Who here has been interviewed orhired by Amazon Web Services/Amazon for a marketing role? A recruiter just reached out to me on LinkedIn and it sounds like a very intense process, but it could be worth it for my professional growth (and wallet). Any suggestions?
What are common ways you learn about exit opportunities, looking to see what’s out there for my role. I’ve had clients offer me back office positions but not interested. Management consulting
An Accenture recruiter just reached out via LinkedIn to discuss a Salesforce Functional Lead role they are trying to fill. He said the comp budget is up to 240k, which seems really high for this type of role. Wondering if anyone at Accenture has insight on if this is realistic, or if this guy might just be throwing a high number to get me to apply.

I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
Diversity & Inclusion means hiring Black & brown people — beyond the receptionist. I’m also a casting director and the talent ALWAYS shares that it’s refreshing to see a “familiar” face. WAKE UP.
Does anyone practice as privacy counsel within a healthcare system? What’s a day in the life look like? What was your background before landing the position?

I think I am experiencing the stages of a mental breakdown. I do not feel like myself. I can fake the smile and cheer for the few meetings I have - and occasionally for friends or family in small bursts. But I feel overwhelming anxiety and depression and am becoming more prone to outbursts. I just want to quit everything and burn it all to the ground. I’m not sure what the main triggers are but am feeling lost and hopeless.
Why I love being in industry: I presented a deck and I misspelled "EBITDA" in the exec summary while presenting to the exec team. No one noticed. No one called me out. No one gave me a nasty glance. No one sent a "pls call my mobile" text after. No email with some stuff about "not meeting expectations" or "how could you let this happen in your role". After the wave of panic, I remembered that I'm in industry now. I make more money, work less hours, work with great people, I'm happy.

So our president-elect is starting a twitter war with Meryl Streep. Is that buyer's remorse kicking in yet Republicans?
Woke up at 5am to prepare for presentations and was sucked into endless calls until 8:00 my presentation is at 8:15. grool.
Post-Covid, I just cannot seem to find the inspiration to network at a conference such as the AWS DC summit. I initially wanted to get facetime with vendors to check out potential job openings. But it just feels like a large circle jerk where no productive work gets done. And besides all keynote addresses are recorded and available online anyway. Wondering if anyone out there feels differently or has had better experiences from these events? #aws
If you can't mute yourself on a conference call, you're probably the equivalent of a gorilla.
Good NPR podcast. Anyone seriously consider changing careers and becoming a coder? http://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2015/11/03/451999158/the-un-college-thats-training-100-000-app-developers
I’m an experienced hire, and I’m reporting to someone younger than me, who I clearly have more experience than, how do I deal with this?
What time do you expect your staff to be in the office in the morning? These 2 keep coming in 910 and 930 when we agreed on 9 (which is generous).
