Hi folks, Just wanted to share the news. Got an email saying my GC card is being processed today. Below is the quick timeline. Indian, had I140 eb2 with PD as July 2011. Filed for GC in Oct 2020 with EB3 downgrade.

Finger print: March 16
EAD with AP: May 05
Received medicals reminder: Sept 24
Medical submitted: Oct 13
New EB3 I140 approved: Dec 07
New card produced email: Dec 23

Just a bit of a rant - I’m back to the office after a prolonged absence (a week in the hospital and six weeks of leave due to illness) and people keep commenting positively on my weight. I lost about 30 lbs in 7 weeks due to being sick, and I’m just starting to get an appetite back again. I’m still dealing with some health stuff but more or less had to go back as I can’t afford to be on employment insurance anymore. I know the comments are well-intentioned but I hate it 🙃

PwC only provides high deductible w/ HSA plans. Even the “low deductible plan” has a deductible in the thousands. What if you’re a new joiner that is in the middle of expensive medical care?

Has anyone had success negotiating a large medical bill with a hospital. I had an emergency room visit, resulting in a bill of which I owe $2k (after payments by insurance). I’m onboarding at a new consulting firm (big4). I was told in a big onboarding meeting with 300+ people in all kinds of diff roles at the firm that the ideal utilization rate is 80% billable. How long did it take you to get to 80% billable? And are there ever any consulting roles where you can consistently be less than 80% billable and still get promoted, get rated well, etc eg if your role just naturally involves a lot of admin work like proposal writing?
