Any Deloitte parent here? I’m due early April and wondering when I should tell my team i.e. before the holidays or after. I’ve told my coach but that’s it. I feel bad because I just started on a project where I replaced someone that just went on maternity leave so anxious about the reaction will be. How far along were you when you told your team and client? I’m 21 weeks pregnant.

I told at around that time as well. If you want to be sure, check with HR about what the policy is to take leave. Most companies ask you to file documents at a certain point before taking leave - EY asks for about 1.5-2months ahead of time. I found that talking to HR was super helpful, as they told me about some benefits I wasn’t aware of.

You can call the call center and they will answer questions. I believe paperwork has to be in 30 days ahead. So far my experience has been that people react really well. It’s one of the best benefits deloitte offers.

I told my leadership team really early because we’re close but also cause I felt like crap. Told my coachees around 3 months /so they could start looking for a new coach; and told my team around the same time. Clients I didn’t tell until after my 20 week scan; some clients I didn’t even tell until 32 weeks.

I just started my job a month ago. It was my 2nd choice role at this company. I didn't realize the chaos I was walking into, and while it's not toxic (yet), I had hopes of more work life balance and an actual "belonging to a team" feel. I basically skipped onboarding and jumped right into working, boss skipped a huge working session I "led" but had no clue how to lead and I was put on the spot. Applying to a dream job but if I don't get it might keep browsing. Is leaving worth the consequences?

Also, a more serious question. Was anyone here eating at a caloric deficit before they got pregnant? If so, at what point did you stop? My first appt isn’t for another a few weeks and I’m curious. I know weight gain isn’t crucial until 2nd trimester, but I’m curious about weight loss now. I know some people tend to be sick for a lot of their 1st trimstester and end up losing weight anyway. 🤔
