They also said to bring back the flare jeans. Good thing I'm a hoarder and kept all those. Time to dig out the closet. I'm starting to think Gen z just discovered the thrift shop finds of everything we just recently tossed...

I commented early but wanted to also add - do we really want to take fashion advice from the generation that invented the tide pod challenge? I live near a D1 school and the freshman class showed up dressed like the Lost Boys. Let’s all wear what we love and feel comfortable in! It’s OK to have a personal style!

Ah, the Peter Pan lost boys are much less cool than the Kiefer Sutherland Lost boys.
I will die in my skinny jeans I don’t care how much the youths bully me
Youth will come crawling back when their ankles are cold or their jeans are sopping wet. Standing tall (in skinny jeans) over here.

I dont do leg day 3x a week to wear loose jeans, no thank you, tok tikers

Who cares what teenagers think...? I know they won't think I'm cool regardless of my jeans and the way I part my hair
Pro
I do not want to be perceived by teenagers at all tbh

I’m 4’11 . No way I’m getting rid of skinny jeans. The flares would just make me look frumpy. 😅

LOL agree C1. At one point I just decided to have jeans for heels and jeans for flats because there was just no other way.
Now I refuse to ever wear heels again so I am READY for these wider cuts. Plus I'm tired of having cold ankles. There is no way to avoid cold ankles with skinny jeans unless you wear boots all the time.
Besides, what we think looks frumpy is completely determined by what is in style at the time. Bad news for anyone insisting they're never going to give up on skinny jeans: you WILL look frumpy if you hold out long enough. That's just how it goes. Wear what you like and all that, I'm team Old and Frumpy for things that make me happy, but know that frumpy is a cultural designation, not an immutable measure of eternal truth 😅

That’s fine but please don’t get rid of high-waisted.

Ugh imagine if low rise jeans came back....that'd be a nightmare

Good riddance too. Skinny jeans were always horrible and make the legs of even the skinniest woman look like overstuffed sausages.
Holding out for a boot cut and trouser jeans revival 🤞

Trousers have been back! I honestly don’t think many things go in and out of style. If you look good in something, you look good and it’s just your style.
Jeans...?
I’ve been in sweats since March. This is the way.
Boot cut, flare, straight leg, paper bag, mom jeans. You can always go for something classic like Levis 501
Who needs jeans for wfh? Leggings are in for now

Lol some ppl are still living their life
I'm top heavy so I need to rely on the leg definition!! Im gonna keep my skinny jeans for sure.
I’m technically Gen Z and no ones actually cancelling them LMAO i’ll die in my skinnies sry- though I am living for the bootleg cut

I've supplemented my collection with a pair of cigarette leg (still fairly slim, so a compromise) and a pair of tomboy style from AG.
I've tried on a bunch of pairs of tomboy and straight leg styles, and found that whereas with the stretch in skinny jeans I could wear a bunch of different brands, it's much harder to find a fit that works with these other styles where there is less stretch in the denim. The rise is probably one of the biggest issues, because I'm short waisted, high-rise jeans really just don't work. Finding the right combination of rise, hips and thigh fit is difficult.
I have sort of a rock/moto style, so a skinny jean worked well with that. It's been a bit hard to transition away.
I am keeping my skinny jeans. Finding a pair of mid rise with stretch in a professional dark wash was an epic journey. I am the same - short torso, minimal waist. I can't just wear whatever.
AYR bomb pop, worth the money
So what happens to mid-calf or knee high boots if you ditch skinny jeans?
I wear those with dresses/skirts
While I still have some skinny jeans... I have widened my horizons. To preface this: I am curvy (size 10) and tall (5’9”). I have found that straight leg, wide leg, and flare are actually quite flattering/more of a unique look. I usually go for Madewell or Levis, and a surprise has been Abercrombie & Fitch - they have majorly revamped since high school days and actually have some cute staples!

Depending on your budget: Paige, Jbrand, and Hudson are great

Why do you care so much about appease children. Do what makes you feel hot
Madewell perfect vintage (curvy fits me soo well), gap high rise cheeky straight! I used to wear exclusively skinny but I actually find these super flattering. Madewell also makes one called stovepipe that I like which is kinda in between!

I love Levis. Wedgie straight jeans allll the way.
