Reduce caloric intake is the name of the game. Let the stress fuel you through breakfast, then salads only on seamless for dinner. Get your coworkers to join you.
Calories in < calories out. Steel cut oatmeal for bfast. Use honey for sweetener if you need it. Toss in some raisins and walnuts if you want. Next two meals should be salad with protein and low fat dressing and lean meat with steamed/sautéed vegetables. Both are available on seamless. Can easily do no dressing on the salad if you add avocado and fruit toppings.
If Youre super out of shape.. in addition to the advice given above on food, you need to kickstart your metabolism. Four times a week: Do 6 miles on a treadmill, running for the first mile / walking for the rest the first week and adding one mile of running each week til you're running all 6. I did exactly that and ate mostly chicken, salmon, rice, vegetables, and salads about two years ago. Lost 27 pounds in 12 weeks but don't check the scales while you're doing it- just watch your waistline and see if you're getting a tighter belt notch / clothes are looser
Had the same issue. Start valuing your health as much as you do for your job and hit the gym. Hard as hell at first but after awhile it'll become normal.
Eat 5 smaller meals a day; drink water before you eat; switch to green tea which helps boost metabolism.
Maybe try to be more busy? I unintentionally lose weight in this job because when I am grinding out work I get so immersed that I forget to eat. My coworkers literally email me daily to remind me...when I'm bored though, Shit hits the fan and I snack all day hahah
Change to a less stress inducing job
Eat as little as possible after 6 pm. Otherwise, the advice above is very sound
Skip the carbs
Eat grilled chicken or fish 6 times a week and skip the starchy sides. Side of fruit or veggies.
Be more active before work and eat 5 meals per day. Interval training is key- I lost 30 pounds in 4 months with toning by doing twice a week HIIT, long runs and cross-training on the weekends, and body weight strength workouts. It's easier to eat healthfully when you have a good exercise routine.
Bump
Oh also I forgot to mention- if you can abstain from drinking (assuming you do) for the time period you work out / try to get back into shape, holy shit it makes a difference
Unfortunately a lot of this has to do with your sleeping and eating schedule, neither of which are probably within your control given your hours... as long as you eat and sleep at around the same time everyday, you will naturally lose weight
Zerohedge is totally alpha
.
Truth is you don't need to go the gym. All you need is eat less (especially not in between meals), eat better (veggies and protein-heavy stuff like chicken, turkey, fish, not too much fatty meat and carb-heavy stuff like bread, sweets, etc.), and most importantly drink a lot of water. I lost 60lbs in 9 months doing this and maintaining a shitty work life balance
Quit
Put the fork down.
You don't gain weight from stress
You gain weight from emotional eating
