Are there more growth opportunity in Tax provision or Investment tax? I work for a financial services firm and want to go up the chain. But the recent tax provision manager opening will be filled. The senior director has hinted that investment tax accounting can be "my baby".

I feel like I was straight up lied to during the interview process. “lots of opportunities to hit quota”. I’m sitting here with only one demo two months after joining the company. it looks like our team has only two people doing demos, and demos are only happening once every two weeks. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be even close to hitting OTE. Are there any other companies hiring right now? I’ll have a discussion about my concerns with my manager soon, but there’s too many red flags here.

Received a written offer from Amazon 4 wks ago, pushed for higher level, reinterview. HM supported it but couldn’t get it done. My og offer went from start date of oct 10 to Jan 3rd. Recruiter said the numbers are locked. I couldn’t reach the HM. Running out of time I accepted. I contacted the HM again saying yay! I accepted. I Have been ghosted for 5 days. Recruiter said background check should come via email soon. Haven’t seen anything. Weirdest experience ever. Why wouldn’t the HM reply?

My work just had a retreat and I felt so out of place and uncomfortable. I tried to talk to people but was pretty much ignored and honestly it was really stressful for me, and the reason I chose a remote role was to avoid this.

Hello guys, I have been working on databse and complex sql all my life, so I need guidance to progress 1 step further. Should I learn ETL with python or Azure Data Factory/ Datalakes. Currently 21 years old, at a fintech, ~2 YOE (I did some ops work while in college), current base salary is $77K (I commute into the office 3+ days a week in NYC) with other benefits like fully paid benefits, a 4% 401K match, got an RSU grant, unlimited PTO, wifi / gym stipends and a $6K sign on bonus. The culture is awful though and I’m speaking with KPMG tomorrow. Should I switch out of my “cushy tech job” to join corporate? They’d be bringing me on as a “senior 1”
