I've adapted and been successful but just feeling some of the differences lately. Wondering if it is the right fit two years in.

Yup, it's different work style vs industry took me a few months to get used to it

We should form a club and support each other. It is a significantly more difficult transition than I could have imagined.

This is an old thread was looking for something else. Had to post though. Way more difficult than I thought too!

Yes to the club. I think if I could talk to people that understand I could postpone the job hunt I'm tempted to start.

Yeah, it would probably feel good to have our experiences validated and we could share what we have learned with each other.

Asking on behalf of my parent who I think is severely under compensated and needs to go elsewhere: - Associate Director at a F100 w/15+ YOE in this industry - Has an MBA and a PMP - Engineering background (foreign country) with program/project/portfolio management experience in current role Currently making $130-$150K with like a $20-30K bonus. Earlier this week I was so busy I only pumped three times when I normally pump 6 times. Since then my milk supply fell drastically where I only pump 2 oz each session even if I pump 30 minutes when before I’d be pumping 3.5-5 oz in 15, and it’s been 4 days already. I know it’s silly but I feel sad thinking I won’t be able to feed my baby sufficiently with breastmilk anymore. I’ll supplement but I felt happy being able to provide full breastmilk before and feel a sense of loss now. Just venting

For those who have kids or have decided you want to start having kids, how did you know you were ready to start trying? I’m turning 31 and my husband and I have been married for 8 months. I’ve always wanted to have kids eventually, but I’m having a hard time coming to terms with how much life will change and the sacrifices that have to be made. Maybe it’s because social media has made me acutely aware of the the mom struggle. If anyone has helpful advice to push past the fear, please share!

Do people realize that it is risky for an employer to have you on payroll if you aren’t vaccinated? If you get sick, they have to grant you leave and all that. So beyond the other staff, it’s risky to have someone employed and risk they end up with Covid because they will be short on labor. So it’s not unreasonable for an employer to require a vaccine to protect headcount.

I got a not good observation from my principal last May teaching on Zoom. I was beside myself at what he said about my teaching and thought it would pass. I am still so frustrated that for the first time the observation he gave me is making me not want to teach or come in to school. I can imagine I'm not teaching my best because of my distaste for my principal's senselessness which hurts the kids.
