EY just playing with you. I came as an audit senior with no experience to Deloitte FDD. Let me know if you want referral

Right. Specifically FDD they dont sponsor

Can confirm EY west is no longer in need of inexperienced folks due to the volume of people hired the past six months. We are focused only on those with FDD experience at this point. Not to say that a stellar candidate wouldn’t be considered but would be low chance of getting through.

Yeah I think this is where the market is going. Firms hired a ridiculous amount of new people in the last year and that approach isn’t working very well. These new hires are not properly trained yet, and arguably some of them would not have been hired if firms were not desperate and lowered their standards. So you end up having projects that are staffed with the right number of heads but are still struggling since the new folks can’t deliver yet. I think getting into B4 / A&M FDD groups will be increasing harder in the next year or so unless it’s a toxic office that bleed people non-stop.

Pwc is hiring! Message me

I know my office is hiring but the standards we use are much higher than before. If you had previous deals experience you will likely get in, but if you don’t you need to do really well in both case and partner rounds to have a shot. We also added a technical accounting round which didn’t exist before and that is screening out an alarming amount of candidates who seem to do fine in the rest of our interview process…

I have been at my new role remote for 3 months now. Things are good but I always feel like I’m not doing enough even after doing all my work and asking for more at times. I have this anxiety I could get fired at any moment or my boss/team will think I’m not contributing enough. It’s harder being remote because I feel my boss and team can’t see me and we can’t build those connections in office. Why do I have this anxiety.

Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.

I’m seeing a lot of posts where leadership has been committed to making changes, but one thing I’ve noticed no one speaking about is transparency in pay equity. Curious what would be the comp for a 1st year consulting partner in Big 4?

After months of networking and trying to break into consulting, I managed to secure one interview. I was really nervous at the beginning of the interview so I started off a bit shaky and didn’t come up with the perfect structure, but did really well on the rest. Today I got the rejection email and their feedback was that I need to work on the structure. I had worked on my structure for so long and I only messed up because I was nervous. I feel so defeated with no more interviews. Wtf do I do? 😓
