This question was asked a while ago and I remember the answers being essentially that they suck.
I've heard it's a sweatshop but who isn't these days
I'm in their performance improvement which works alongside PEPI. I can't speak to the overall PEPI strength compared to other firms, but I do know they're a decent size within the company, they operate at a national instead of regional level (affects project locations) and their resources tend to be more senior compare to my team. I've enjoyed working with the PEPI people that I have in the past, if that counts for anything. I don't cross paths with TAG as much but I do know you'll want to talk to as many senior managers as you can - they set the company culture (and the work)for each business line and you'll become familiar with all of them quickly. Because it's not big 4, you both get to AND have to do more variable work within your business
Yes - a bunch of former Arthur Andersen people. Business oriented firm with light to no technical resources.
Heard they do disputes
4 years at the firm I think I know a thing or two. Each region and business unit are slightly different
Whats your role at A&M. I am applying to their TAG group
How strong is PEPI? Watched an interview with PEPI head (junior Alvarez I believe) and was not impressed at all
Thanks! Very helpful. So PEPI and performance improvement are different teams? Shouldn't they overlap quite a lot?
@M1 it's different teams because PEPI does shorter, very intense projects with an emphasis on improving portfolios and cash, Ours are more long term, regular work hours with an emphasis on 1+ yr strategic goals. Same skill sets for the projects so we do share resources, but there are cultural differences and lifestyle differences with the people who work in mature industries vs the private equity space
