Any female ADHD Consultants here? I’ve never been diagnosed but have a bit of suspicion. From what little research I’ve done, seems much harder to diag in women since there’s no clear phenotype.

Diagnosis helps tremendously. Started valuing what I’m good at. Stopped beating my head against the wall of trying to be good at the ‘simple boring things’. Meds also help so that I’m not spending so much energy just to start or stop things. Feels like a strong cup of coffee.

Diagnosed in my 40’s when I suspected my son had it. We both got diagnosed in the same year. We have two different types though. Mines inattentive, and his is hyperactive. I feel like inattentive is harder to diagnose.

I realized this morning that the anxiety I’m feeling lately is really similar to the anxiety I felt as a first year, when I was out of my depth and didn’t know what I was doing. I haven’t had anxiety issues for a couple of years now, but here we are again. Does this happen at every point in the legal profession when you suddenly have increased responsibility and expectations? When do I get to feel competent again instead of totally overwhelmed?

I have a manager that does not seem to understand mental illnesses, disorders, etc. He thinks I am making excuses rather than trying to explain things (I have diagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and depression) and I’m trying to take ownership for issues but also help him understand what I am describing better as well. We are sitting down for a conversation later this week. Any advice on how to gently educate or help with his understanding of neurodivergence and other mental health considerations?

My Havanese puppy seems to accidentally puke / have loose stools at least once a week. No problems prior to those one of those incidents and she seems active and normal right after that as well. We are super strict about her food portions, meal schedules and try to ensure she doesn’t eat crap on her walks. What am I missing here? Is this normal behaviour amongst puppies? Any tips to improve her digestive health. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Has anyone addressed their ADHD with their boss directly? For example, I have a really hard time with long meetings. I can’t sit still and pay attention and I wonder if sharing this with my boss would be helpful or if it would raise red flags. Funny enough, my job is very detail oriented.

My friend have PTSD and needs to talk to me daily. Super sensitive and always assume stuff (I must be dating someone new). I don't have the energy to talk to him daily but he said I used to talk regularly (that's before he starts relying on me). Proceeds to tells me I gaslight him, he always shares his life and I don't etc. Too much drama and I ended up ghosting him and it's been couple months. Seriously wanna divorce my wife who’s not necessarily a bad person but I feel angry about her all the time. I always have to fight with her over the small things. I feel she’s playing a power game and trying to take control whenever she gets the chance.

The only moment she steps back and be the person I want is when I get really angry and she can sense it. Why do I have to do this every time to get peace?

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

Started on 30mg of Vyvanse..it's been 7 days but no change in my adhd symptoms. ? Does it mean my dose is low or I may something deeper like stress, anxiety, lack of sleep
