¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OP I’m the same. Sometimes you just have to listen to and let your body be. I usually jump right back into proper eating and fitness after the week but let myself take it a day at a time with my period itself (sometimes that means a lot of bread for snacks). Drink lots of water and give your body a rest

This makes me feel much better...I’m so weight and exercise conscious. I feel bad when I do this kind of thing, especially on days like yesterday that weren’t exercise days. I’m definitely going to get back on proper eating today (also helps that I’m exercising today as well), but it’s comforting to remember that it’s okay this happens once in a while as long as I just get back into my normal routine.

Happens to me! I just keep healthier things around and try to up the volume as to feel more satisfied with my meals and snacks. For example instead of having a handful of pretzel crisps I’ll have 4 cups of air popped popcorn, same amount of calories but I’ll definitely feel more satisfied after that popcorn.

Yeah it definitely doesn’t help rn that we’re out of my healthy snacks and we’re trying not to get more food til we move. I did that today though, I ate a bunch of nuts after all the garbage I had yesterday.

If you can anticipate it, minimize having snacks at home during that time. Set reminders to nap so you don’t snack to stay awake or focused. Stay hydrated. Schedule workouts and eat to fuel them.

You do need more - your body is doing something extra and is exhausted - part of the solution is acknowledging that

It may have to do with nutritional deficiencies. I read somewhere that people crave chocolate during their time of the month if they lack magnesium. Worth asking during your next physical!

Hm that’s good to know!

Having more starchy fruit/veg like sweet potatoes and bananas helps me reduce the junky cravings (discovered this by chance when doing Whole30). Sweet potatoes also have a bunch of vitamins and minerals that might be helping too.

Mmmm okay I’ll keep that in mind!

Interviewing at McKinsey from a big 4 consulting firm - currently an engagement manager interviewing for an engagement manager role on the partner track - comp at big 4 is currently $165k base, what’s a reasonable amount to ask for at mck? I got an Ivy League exec mba in 2020 as well, which hasn’t yet been reflected in my big 4 comp (we mostly didn’t do raises because of covid last year). Trying to understand how much higher mck might be willing to go?

here's my prediction. If Biden wins, the media will begin to message the following; -The worst COVID risks and outcomes are to people with identifiable risk factors such as obesity and diabetes. -Most other people who catch it will experience a bad flu. -Many other people who catch it won't even know they have it. -It's not commonly transmitted by touching objects and person to person transmittal is low risk except in close contact. The media will then message that we should; (cont'd)

Feeling hopeless today professionally. I’ve tried to trooper on throughout this pandemic but today it all caught up to me. Exhausted, mentally drained and just so negative. People are saying it’s rare to get covid if you’re vaccinated (most recently 1 in 1000 breakthrough cases for MA) but isn’t that directly attributable to far less testing done now? I can understand it’s rare to be at risk for hospitalization, but do we really know how many people are asymptomatic and still spreading?
