Can someone provide some advice regarding career change. At the moment I am TL/manager of a group of IT support engineers and would like to get into IT project management. In my current company there's no opportunity to switch to different department, so looking Im looking at external opportunities. Most job ads ask for 3+ years experience in project management, various certificates etc. I've been exposed to some IT projects from support, technical requirements point of view

If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?

How often does everyone check in with their project leadership specifically about their performance on a project? I’m a recent new hire and when I first proposed scheduling recurring check-ins my senior manager seemed surprised so I was curious what the standard practice is. Do vendors provide the agency with a pre-pro book prior to the shoot if it’s a simple drop kit, taking head? Not sure if there’s a need for it since it’s not a complicated shoot (single cam, direct shot to talent answering questions) but wanted to get a sense. Client wants a meeting the day before the shoot to talk about the production (which we have done a few times already), so not sure if it makes sense to have a formal PPB for this meeting. Thoughts?

What's the norm for consulting firms during a shutdown? Do people on non funded projects usually get furloughed or kept on? Asking because I've been at a bigger firm that kept everyone on during the last shutdown, but I'm at a much smaller company now that is going to furlough on a project by project basis (if your project is shutdown, you get furloughed). Just curious if this is commonplace among smaller firms/what the norm is for bigger ones as well? What's been your experience?

So I've been working at my company for 8 months now as a business analyst. Both senior consultants on my project are leaving, with no replacements in sight, so the project work is most likely going to fall to me. I am already doing most of the work of a full fledged consultant as defined by the companies description. I'm only getting paid 55k a year which I'm being told by other employees is below industry standard (they take around 70% of my billable rate) and I'm feeling kind of stuck. Advise?

I need advice on when I am, and am not, permitted to buy publicly traded stock shares in which (A) the company is a firm client and (B) I did work for the company. In both scenarios, I lack material nonpublic information about the company; however, I also don’t want to risk the SEC asking questions. Is a 6 month or year-long cooling off period a good rule of thumb? Say after the IPO and doing zero work for the company? The trade would be under $10,000. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

I joined ACN with mindset that I'll move into management role after couple of years, but they put me into a project which is 100% opposite to my previous experience, both domain and techn wise. I'm planning to take up Agile Project Management role immediately (Scrum Master or PO) & my supervisor said he will help me making the shift. Is it worth for me to make this shift right now?
