Currently in a strategy role in tech. I went from being a 5 star analyst to borderline 1 star since Covid started due to lack of motivation, manager micro-managing every detail of project since WFH started etc. My work is now 90% ops, 10% strategy (was 75/25 strategy before), and my manager has taken over the few projects I used to own due to them not having much work themselves. I have an offer for a remote industry accountant position. I’m an S1 and promotions aren’t announced until mid July. Debating on jumping ship. This fight has gotten real! I’ve been offered a job, advertised as remote, but they want to have a blended program with teachers on campus. After giving an interview I got a call and mail from TCS hr for document upload on 2nd nov in tcs ibegin, on the same day i have uploaded the documnets in tcs ibegin and on 4th nov the status got changed in tcs ibegin from canditate registered to evaluation in progress but still my document status is showing pending for verification . Can anyone tell me how long it will take for verifying the document and generating the offer letter?

I’m a little confused on the electric vehicle tax credit. I’m filling out Form 8936 and it appears to have a maximum credit of $2,500. However, I am reading that the maximum credit is $7,500 if your tax/AGI meet the criteria which it does in this case. What am I missing here? The form clearly shows $2,500 so where is the $7,500 coming from? Also, is there carryover to next year’s return if all of it isn’t use? Looks like maybe form 8834 if I’m reading it correctly?

what’s it like working in tax at BDO?

I left public accounting for industry about 1.5 years ago. I was a senior in a PCS group. I'll be looking to get back into PA in a PCS group once I get licensed. Does being out of PA for 2 years mean I should look for an experienced staff role, or could I get a senior position? My industry role isn't tax related, so I would have to get back up to speed on all the tax changes in the past couple of years.

What are legitimate options in careers for a tax manager coming from a midsize PA firm and 7 years of experience? I am feeling totally burned out of PA going to have 2,000 billable hours by EOY. Would really appreciate all suggestions!
