Any firms that have made the "work from home" decision yet? We've been getting preparation notices for weeks but not officially given the signal.

I feel like it’ll be all of the firms at once that make the call. No one wants to be the first mover.

I mean we're in a "state of emergency" at this point so it'll be now or never..

My firm literally just gave out a small container of Clorox wipes and called of a day... we are in NYC...

Quinn Emmanuel partner just confirmed to have it and they’re closing the NYC Office.

A friend at my firm sent the article just now and then another confirmed they had a depo scheduled with them next week that had already been cancelled

My client just had cases of the virus reported in their office and I was there for a deposition and prep last week, so they are making me work from home for 2 weeks.

Good luck!!

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!

Is doing freelance work on the side (when I’m off the clock, of course) considered taboo? Considering signing up for Fiverr to make some fun money but I don’t want any bad blood with my current job because I really like it and am not planning on leaving any time soon. (Sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my first copywriting job out of college and I’ve been 100% remote, so it’s hard to get a feel for things like this!)

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

For those of you not renewing your leases/ moving out of cities, what are you doing with your furniture, etc. for the time being? How are you facilitating your move? I think my firm is going to be moving towards global flexibility regarding work from home. They won't force us to live in certain cities with offices. Where in the US is there a beach or beach town that gets all four seasons? Is such a thing possible? I love the ocean, but Fall is my favorite season.

I recently transitioned to wfh full-time, in house. Amazing gig - I’m not complaining - but I literally never have to wear suits or anything fancy. Coworkers wear t-shirts, rarely blouses. My background is litigation, so I’m used to wearing sweaters, cardigans, suits, dresses. I don’t want to be the only one wearing business casual outfits but I can’t bring myself to wear a tank top/t-shirt and sweats/leggings every day. Advice for what to wear to wfh now that I’m just dressing for me? (Cont.)
