I've seen a lot of Republicans invoke restrictive abortion laws in Europe as if Europe is somehow what we should aim to be. Part of the reason they have such restrictive laws is because everyone has access to healthcare and has an opportunity to get an abortion before a certain point. That's not the case here. Also, do we really want to be like a place where non-white people are legitimately treated like second-class citizens and excluded from government programs and even welfare?
