I'm doing IVF, but still taking a low dose of Ritalin. Visited a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD and maternal and infant health. Her risk-benefit analysis was that it was a low risk if I continued with the low dose.
Hi there! I'm on Vyvanse and 4 weeks pregnant with 2nd kid. I got off meds last time before conceiving and work was BRUTAL. I am still on and am planning to stay on through August which is my end of billable year and then will take 1 week vacation to stop meds. It's so hard to make an informed decision about this due to the limited studies. I am scared that I will hurt my baby staying on meds. I am also up for partner in Sep. 2021 which is weighing on me. At the end of the day, my salary does not justify risking my baby's health but yet here I am...
A1 that encourages me though bc it’s SO IMPORTANT to make sure YOUR mental health is good and I feel like it’s not talked about as much as it should. I also have depression and if I were to go off those meds then I would be depressed and will probably result in a poor pregnancy bc mom wasn’t taking what she needs. I know more and more women with “severe” ADHD (like me) are taking meds (especially Vyvanse) while pregnant and it results in a more stable mother and a better pregnancy. So thank you for sharing your story it’s very encouraging to me bc I have a demanding job as well, up for promotion, and I don’t want to fall short of that if I can find a balance between the right amount of meds and keeping my baby healthy. It’s a step by step process!
