Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake
Something similar to the digital classroom support specialist or tech help desk would be great. I consider myself tech savvy

It seems to me like you're doing a bit of enabling, I'd suggest that you allow him to feel the full brunt of his consequences. Until he's hit his bottom your 12-step speak will fall on deaf ears, so save your breath. If/when he finally does hear the message, it may very likely not be coming from you, stop trying to write his script, and let God handle it.
As a direct answer, I do think attending a couple Al Anon meetings could help you put it in perspective.
Yeah tbf it was a tough spot. I was a groomsman in the wedding, and he wrecked the groom’s cart. I was trying to keep the groom from having to deal with it at all, but I totally agree with your point

Nothing wrong with being in AA and going to Al Anon. I’ve heard it called being a “double winner”, haha.
They focus on the principle of “detaching with love”. As I understand it, you still have love and affection for the person struggling, but you’re no longer trying to control them or take responsibility for them.
It can’t hurt to check it out. I just started going to ACA, which has some overlap and is super helpful too, when it comes to understanding where all this started (spoiler alert: our childhood).
