Does tour of duty with in same practice affect H1B status? I am up for H1B extension. Also, I will have to apply for a new job posting under advisory does that automatically require H1B transfer?
D fishes. If you didn’t get selected in H1B lottery, and this was your last attempt, worry not. I too sailed on the same boat. Now I am on day 1 CPT. There is a brighter side to this. IM/email me for more details.
Canceling CSR my NY friends?
Anyone nervous about h1b ??
After 3 rounds of interviews (total 4 inc recruiter screen) over the past 5 odd weeks, just got told by a T2 consulting firm that they doesn’t sponsor H1B visas which is frustrating because they were aware of my visa situation right at the start. Sigh 😢. Understand it happens but frustrating nonetheless given the time and effort invested.
Forget Glassdoor. The government publicly reports the salaries of H1B visa employees. http://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=&job=&city=&year=All
Just paid off my credit card debt that totaled a whopping 5-digits worth! ($XX,XXX) Took 7 months of sacrifice and making better life choices. I never wanna be in debt ever again!
Trying to transition to CSR or Sustainability consulting but finding it hard as many large firms have a very small footprint. Any recommendations?
I got 2 offers and I initiated h1b transfer process with Employer B and Employer C. Employer B - approved (premium) Employer C - pending (regular) Started working with Employer B. What happens to C?
Anyone tried immigration to Australia or Canada? I’m not sure what the process would be for a consultant with no family ties or local job offer.
Will Deloitte allow me to work from India for sometime (3-4 weeks) ? Planning to visit India for visa stamping. PS: 80 percent team on my project is from USI and there will be no client confidentiality issues.
My H1b extension is due for Jan,2019 & I have option to apply in premium. What happens if I apply in premium & get rejection- Will I have to leave country immediately or still have time till Jan?
thoughts about reneging on an offer after immigration is approved and taking another offer? any repercussions w reneging from terms a company and immigration standpoint?
Hi everyone, my situation: currently on 12 months OPT, expiring in Sep 2021, also have a stem extension for 2-years. Got picked in h1b lottery in the second round. I also got a new job offer this week. My question: Can my potential new employer file for h1b petition that was picked in lottery which was submitted by my current employer? If yes, is it a feasible option? What are my safe options in this case if I want to take the new job? Thank you for your guidance!
I’m waiting on my h1b transfer. If I got rfe, I really want to use the waiting time to visit my family (have more than enough pto left with my current employer). Anyone know if it’s possible to use my old I797 to get VISA stamp? Then putting notice after I’m back.
I’ve been told by my firm that I need to get a corporate amex card. I’m new to consulting- can I still use my own credit card to get the points and expense that way? If it’s the corporate card can I still get points for it also or does it only go to EYP? Curious to know if a corporate amex is even a good thing or the benefits for it. Thanks!
Any financial advice for us younger professionals who have not weathered a recession? I’m nearly three years out of college and it freaks me out to see my (small) 401k losing thousands of dollars.
Any M level or above 🐠 at Deloitte Consulting willing to help with a referral? Much appreciated!
Hi, all! I am currently in the process of switching firms. I’m at another big 4 in financial services. My new role has sent out a survey for market team preference between Financial Services and Products & Services (tech, media, telecommunications, consumer markets, etc). In terms of work and exit ops, which would you choose and why? Thank you!
Interviewed yesterday with D for a consulting role with GPS 2ish YOE and multiple internships with big orgs. Everything went great except the qualitative part of the case which was awkward because I was emailed a sheet that had partial info about the case prior to the start, but I was supposed to act as if I didn’t? Quantitatively went very well. One interviewer had to reschedule due to technical difficulties. Idk if did well enough for the offer but the wait is🤢 Any tips on this last interv?
How likely is my internship pay rate going to compare to my first year salary (assuming I’m hired)?
🐠's need Advise. I am tempted to move to another big 4 for better pay. Considering speaking to PPED regarding my compensation before making a decision. As a senior 2 earning 89K. Is that standard?
Looking for an Onboarding specialist , Talent Acquisition , Learning and Development role. 4 YOE. Salary : 90k + with benefits
If I had a traditional IRA before being employed in a 401k eligible role, can / must I roll that IRA into the 401k or can I leave the accounts separate without deleterious tax consequences?
If you’re worried about your students because they were online all year please check out my resource. I was a first grade teacher last year online and a doctorate student. I could tell the kids would need some SEL to transition back! Filled with guiding questions and a sequencing activity. Very helpful to teach empathy to those students who were not online as well 💕. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n9jcRsJ8NGc&feature=youtu.be. https://www.amazon.com/Follow-Distance-Learning-Agnieszka-Petlik/dp/1637103956/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=follow+me+to+distance+learning&qid=1628036547&sprefix=follow+me+to+distance&sr=8-3. https://cea.org/simsbury-teacher-writes-book-to-help-students-understand-experience-of-remote-learning/
If you were applying to grad school (MBA) and had someone offering to write a rec letter what traits would you ask them to focus on? Rephrased, what traits would selection committees be most interested in?
I see a lot of LinkedIn posts about how we are all shopping offers and how this should be stopped. What do you all say? I feel like in case they feel it's a "crime", HRs should not proceed if we say I have a standing offer in the beginning itself. Only firms can poach people who join for lesser salary (even though market standards say otherwise) but we can't seek for better offers?
I’ll be promoted next year to senior but I’m in a niche role where I don’t see myself long term. Should I make a job switch now or should I wait to get promoted to senior? I currently have 1.5 years of experience.
Let's say I'm looking at an industry or otherwise non-traveling role. Is it fair to consider travel benefits (meals/per diem, miles, alt travel) as part of total compensation?
PTO on the bench if actually taking vacation? Thoughts about that? Does that help shorten your time on the bench and look less bad?
