Any foster moms out there? I’m curious if companies provide parental leave to support new fostering relationships? Have your companies been supportive of the time commitment during work hours?

I have no advice but you are amazing for fostering.

I feel like lately there is more leave given for fostering/adoption but I’d check your handbook and explain the situation to HR

I am almost positive Edelman and Omnicom agencies do!

The small agency I am at does provide parental leave for fostering, same as if you give birth or adopt a child. It’s a benefit that def makes me proud.

Can confirm for my WPP agency - we have policies that give you time, resources and same treatment. You’re a parent after all.

Father of two young kids (both <= 3), we are now considering a third. I’m already struggling to make time given a busy work schedule as a Partner with relevant travel...am I completely crazy?

Advice needed-I’m 30 weeks pregnant and constantly getting dumped on at work (in industry now). I’m high risk (gestational diabetes & hypertension) and have been clear with my all male management team that I’m high risk. Still, they are steady trying to pull me into new projects while I’m actively leading one of the most high profile projects in the org. From a career standpoint, I appreciate it, but I cannot physically keep up the way I used to and feel like I’m risking my and my baby’s health.

Just need to gripe. My partner of 10 years and I don’t plan on having kids. Why shouldn’t I get a paid sabbatical in lieu of parental leave? (Could apply to straight peeps too)

Might be a paranoid mom question - my 16 month old is starting daycare next week. So far, I’ve had virtual interviews/meet and greet sessions with the daycare staff. Today we went in for our in-person orientation and I noticed that my child is the only non-white kid in his class of 8. Not entirely shocking, but in my head (and having seen pictures in their catalog) I was hoping there would be a little more diversity. Should I be worried about my kid feeling left out because he looks different?

My little girl now has an option of returning to school in-person through her spring break. My spouse is a high risk + extra careful when it comes to all things pandemic. I'm worried about my little kid's lost year & want her to go to school & interact with her friends, learn, etc. She's been home since March. Schools are being extra careful, maintaining all precautions, etc. But I can't convince my spouse to agree to this. Anyone else in a similar situation?

My brother has 2 kids, aged 6 and 3. They never call or keep in touch but take full on advantage of my 77 year old mother who has health issues and debilitating back pain. They put her in stressful situations...she never says no because she’s too nice. Today called and said dropping off both kids FOR 6 days while they go on vacation to Florida for someone’s bday. I live in another state but am summoned to help take care of their kids with absolutely no notice. I say no & im the problem...

Any recommendations for a postpartum get-back-in-shape program I can do from home (app, website, etc)? I (luckily!) don’t have any crazy pelvic floor issues, but have had some real back pain so looking for a program with good core strengthening, as well as a balanced focus that can generally help me shed the post baby weight.

Hi moms. I’m looking for tips for transitioning my baby from slow flow nipple to medium flow nipple. She is 12 weeks old, a few days short of 3 month. We thought she was ready for medium flow nipples a week ago and started using them. But there were a good amount of spill (any amount of breast milk wasted makes me 😞; there were more milk in her mouth than she can swallow, and milk end up overflowing out of her mouth). And she threw up most of the milk after one night feeding.

Baby attorney here. I am representing a mom in a custody case and I am worried about the outcome. I’m trying remind myself that the consequences/outcome she faces, stem from her actions/choices leading up to the hearing. Any tips on separating yourself from a case? I don’t want to feel stressed or guilty, when I know I’m doing everything I can to fight for her.

Just read a post on Instagram about brides who are having to postpone their weddings due to covid and encouraging them to “stay strong.” I’m sorry, what? Stay strong? Weddings CAN be postponed. What is there to be strong for? I know we don’t need to compare one person’s struggle to another’s, but seriously? People missed the birth of their child, their graduation, etc - all things that can’t be postponed. Brides need to do less. Your wedding day will come. Thank you for listening to me vent 🥳

From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
