Trying to break into IB. I’m currently working at a $40+bn PE but middle office. My day to day is mostly monitoring investments directly with deal team MDs and also preparing fundraising materials. I wanted to break into IB right out of college but banks would turn me down as I came to the US as a F1 student (needed sponsorship). However, I’m now US resident and still want to be in IBD. I do modeling and help with valuations currently too (DCFs, etc). I’d appreciate any advice or referrals.

Any CPAs or tax lawyers here? The IRS has been sending us documentation for a couple of items that would lead to a $2k tax bill plus tax. It’s for tax year 2017.

Question: does the IRS have until April 15th 2021 to make a final assessment or can they go beyond that since they started the process? TIA
