Hello, I am not from Australia but I see that you are a design engineer. If so, there is a very interesting job market for your profession on Upwork and PPH (people per hour).

Thanks, I just registered to Upwork. I'll jump on PPH hopefully ill attract some work

To be independent in your profession is not very difficult, you just have to enhance your Linkedin profile and make it clear that you are looking for a remote position, jobs will surely rain down on you.

Freelancing as an engineer in Australia can be tough. It can be hard to find clients, and it's difficult to get started in the industry. The best way to find work is through networking, and there are a few good websites where you can find freelance work. You'll also need to have a strong portfolio of your work to attract clients.

Have you found any particular sites work best in Aus? I've joined Upwork per one of the previous comments. Thanks for your input.

I'm a freelance engineer from Australia and I've found it great! I've had the best results attracting clients through word-of-mouth and referrals, and I've found that networking is a really important part of freelancing. My tips for stepping into a freelancing role in Australia would be to make sure you showcase your skills and experience well, be professional and reliable, and build up a good portfolio of work.

Thanks for the tip; I've started attending some networking events so hopefully some comes from it. Did you bother with advertising on google/FB etc?

I’m looking for feedback on a startup idea. It’s a professional social media site with primarily two product features. 1) professionals posting about their thoughts, ideas..etc. it will be a single page of content that users can scroll and read. (Similar to TikTok) however the scroll would be right to left. 2) anyone would be able to ask Questions to a professional. They would be incentivized by giving a payout to answers they write.
This platform would have a $5/month subscription fee.
