When the woman on the flight next to you leans in and asks “if you’re a drug dealer because you’re carrying two phones and three laptops” ... nope, just a consultant... happy fly day! 😂😂😂

Any fish with experience moving to an internal, non-consulting role with their firm and have an opinion on making the move now? Would be promotion (which I am unlikely to get in my area of the org due to freezes) but very aware of the old adage “if it’s not billable, it’s killable.” No layoffs yet and no pressure for me to move out of consulting, but this may be an option to level up and maybe have a better exit in 18 months. Thoughts?

Anyone here starting with Deloitte in July as an experienced hire? Had an offer pre-COVID which got pushed out to July. Wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat?

What is the best way to have a constructive feedback session with someone above you? How do you stand up to them if you disagree with some of their feedback without picking a “fight”? I have noticed that some people will remember 1 mistake you made and forget to credit you for all the good work you did. I think it’s just human tendency but it’s frustrating.

For all the EY layoffs announced today, did the firm still give you the 401k match? Policy is to be employed as of 12/31 in order to receive and I hope they were kind enough to still match...

I've pulled out of my positions this week, and gone to 100% cash. Decided it was best for my mental health to stay out of the market until three election. I know that time in the market beats timing the market... But I've decided to do this anyways because I have a really strong gut feeling. Screw it.

Should I remove my education date range from my resume ? I’s a bachelors degree from a decent school (non - ivy). I have 5 YOE and just made manager. I want to begin applying to other jobs but don’t want my age (27) hurt me when applying. It becomes evident when they see I graduated undergrad in 2015.

Tell me something good - how did you realize that your SO was the one for you? I went through a rough time these past few weeks after being laid off, immigration issues, etc. and I think my boyfriend might be the one for me. He’s always been there for me and I can be myself around him (with the breakdowns and all).
