Teachers

Any good holiday crafts for fifth graders ? I’m not very creative and I always struggle with this.

My idea is not a craft (I'm not too crafty either) but I always like to have my students make handmade thank you cards for their ;parents and teachers. It just gives everyone a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. And I make sure that they're specific- not just thank you, but thank you for what?

Last year we made snow men out of glass jars (painted the insides white and glued/drew faces on the outside, added scarves and hats with donated fabric scraps) and then the students wrote a narrative about their snowman. They took the jars home and I put up paper with a picture and their writing

For which holiday? We make a gratitude tree and keep it up for all of November and they add leaves for things they are grateful for whenever they want. We do that instead of Thanksgiving stuff...For December since it snows in New Jersey there are lots of different activities on Pinterest that are snow, or snowmen or trees that go along with lessons if you’re doing warm and cool colors, or shades and tints, or water resist.

Had 25 hours and 1.5 weeks to write out a relatively simple design and review with the client. Decided to start it last night, drunk, and finished this morning. Design went great, client was really happy and we’re moving on to build. Spent a total of 2.5 hours doing it, and now I’m gonna go take a nap.
