I have been in the pharma industry for 2 years and I have 2.5 years of undergrad research in microfluidics and nanofabrication for cancer cell identification. What Masters degree do y’all think is more valuable for breaking into finance: Masters of Financial Mathematics and Financial Technology or Masters of Economics. Thinking of using these as a method to breakout and then eventually going MBA route later on down the road. 1 YOE at Big 4 risk advisory, Engineering and Economics undergrad at top 50 University with 3.75 GPA if that matters at all.

Not sure if possible but looking to hire someone to tutor me in PE fund accounting (waterfalls, allocations, how to model, etc). I need to "get it" for my job in house but im just not and starting to panic. I'm senior so there's no longer an excuse for why I don't get it. Ive had friends in PE help me at times and I tried to take online courses but I am wary of taking up their time with all my questions and at the end of the day I really need a few live sessions. Advice on how to go about this?

Do any corporate legal departments use document management programs? I transitioned about a year ago from a firm to a company and the legal dept now just used network folders and it’s a hot mess trying to save and track versions. Never thought I’d miss anything from firm life, but document management software is one thing I really miss.

Big law M&A attorney with only ~1 year experience (but prior experience in corporate accounting/finance at F500). Really hate big law, so I'm starting to explore other options. What kinds of roles/positions are possible in house? What type of compensation? Please don't reference the Robert Half stuff...unless I don't know how to read any of those sources, they don't seem to be helpful at all at helping me navigate this.

My company recently moved me to a new cubicle. However the new cubbies is so loud, I’ve asked to move and they have found a new cubicle for me but it’s in a worse location (by the bathroom). What are your thoughts on getting a CIPP/US privacy certification? I’m a staff counsel mainly focused on compliance for new regulated and unregulated products. I work with privacy attorneys but it’s not my focus. Don’t want to step on toes but always interested in expanding my skillset/value. Not sure my company would pay for it though since I’m not in the privacy department/counsel role.

My company (a renewable energy developer) is being acquired by a much larger energy company in a platform deal. I'm currently part of a 3 person legal team, with each attorney supporting different parts of the business, and having different areas of expertise. Anyone have any insight into the impact/fallout of these types of deals on the acquired company's legal department? I'm being told everything will be the same (but with better benefits), but who knows!

Looking to transition to in house. I’m a lit attorney and I’m trying to leverage my skills, getting some interviews but yet to land something. I do some privacy work, but not enough to really be a draw for a privacy counsel role. Would a CIPP certificate actually give me any value when trying to transition or is it kind of like a toss off? Nice to have but doesn’t really matter?

Anyone here counsel for a parent company with a lot of subsidiaries but the parent company’s legal department is really really small? I’m wondering if a small legal department for a large company is more of a pro or con? On one hand I suspect it’s less organized, on the other it might be a great leadership opportunity. Any insight? I need some help. I am useless in figuring out what I should be paid. I have an offer on the table from a financial services company for TC of $385000. I am a very senior attorney (20+ years) but this is not a management position. All cash and in the tristate area. Should I be asking for me?

Does anyone have any insight on base compensation for in house counsel at Deloitte? Trying to informally figure out whether an applicant’s reported income is within Deloitte’s range or if the applicant is just over inflating current salary in attempts to get a better offer. Thanks.
