It’s a good question I was considering doing an ARF program. Not sure exactly how these things are regarded though?

I’ve had this conversation with some recruiters (pre pandemic) and work experience always trumps MOOCs. But it shows that you’re actively trying to grow.

My impression is that as society and education shifts post Covid-19, this view point may be re-evaluated?

Google “Chris Doe Futur School”. I really like how accessible and easy to understand he makes info. It is geared more towards designers but still some really good nuggets I think. I’m a big fan as you can tell.

LinkedIn also has some courses available if your a premium member called “LinkedIn Learning” and you can post completion of your courses to your profile for anyone to see.

I think at this point you would “only” be doing it for your own edification and not industry/agency validation. So not sure what’s worthwhile but hoping you get more responses here. Great question and one I’ve been interested in for a while as well.

Would you lateral from B4 into McKinsey as EM or take an industry offer that is $50k more in TC (thank MCK offer) and better wlb? I am thinking I would be able to get similar exit opps assuming I do not make it to AP. What would you do if you were in my situation? It’s a good place to be, but I am losing sleep over this. TIA

Going to be finishing my Data Science masters soon. Thinking a lot about my future, if it is worth staying in agency or if I should just move to tech companies. For people who work in agencies, do you really use data science? By data science, I mean things that are not reporting and actually doing predictive modeling/ML. Do agencies even hire data scientists? Or it just falls under the general analytics roles.

Does anyone know any former elementary teacher who made a successful transition to UX or Product Design?

Of course, I have very little income to spare for additional training. I have an amateur freelance graphic design background and I’m teaching myself as much as I can, along with working on the Google UX Design certificate through Coursera.

I’m also trying to figure out how to best sell my teaching experience on a resume. I want to frame my data analysis skills, etc. any tips?

I'm really excited. I basically couldn't walk for like a week after I had COVID. Even just laying down hurt. It was like merely existing was excruciating (reminded me of the last 8 weeks or so of pregnancy honestly).

I told myself I couldn't go back to the office until I could be on my feet for several minutes (for meetings, bathroom trips, etc.). Yesterday was my first day back in the office. It was horribly painful. But today is Day 2, and I'm doing OK!!! I'm so excited!

I have notes saved from clients, VPs, ECDs etc singing my praises and have been getting AS offers at other agencies since October. I'm barely a year into my role, but is it okay to leave for a higher position at a different agency and for an account that is more interesting for me? While my current agency is great, the account is very repetitive and prescriptive. However it has allowed me to learn and grow a lot in my role. It's just that the scope of work isn't that interesting and exciting. The new role is more on social and experiential which excites me and seems like a great opportunity. Smaller agency though.
