Any good book recommendations on psychology?
Anyone have good NON-FICTION recommendations? Enjoy self-help and psychology books (as long as they’re not overly pedantic). Already read grit, outliers, atomic habits, running (haruki murakami)
Favorite women in business/psychology books and podcasts and ted talks? Like: Play Like a Man, Win Like a Woman by Gail Evans
Anyone on here in organizational psychology consulting? I’ve been reading a lot of books in IO Psych. and would love to transition to that field. Currently in ERP consulting. If you could share how you got started and any advice for someone looking to go in that field (degrees/experiences/etc).
I loved reading this book, and now I'm looking for something with a similar feel - any recommendations? In general I like memoir, psychology, self help.
Any (light) book recommendations to read- non fictional, not self-help. Psychology, abstract, biography, science, human evolution, how our mind works, etc..
Books on human psychology that have affected you. I'll start: influence, sales Bible, on killing.
People worrying today should read books on trading psychology! Not being patronizing- it will help you in the future, not just for investments but for doing better in life!
What are some of the best books you’ve read about people and investing? Such as dealing with people (business psychology almost) and then investing (real estate more specifically)! I am looking for books that give practical advice, not just big picture theory and motivation.
I have an interview for social media strategist with a rising DTC startup in NYC. I’m feeling imposter syndrome, since I’ve never marketed such a big, hip company. What books can I read or courses can I take to come into the interview solid and prepared? Most of my marketing theory is based on Seth Godin books and reading psychology.
Any book recommendations for philosophy, psychology, and business? Or any book you read last year changed your values? Going to fly international, gonna read it on flight. 😍
I would like to ask for a few recommendations of books that is related to mental health or psychology
Anyone have any good psychology book recommendations? I’m trying to learn more about myself and find psychology interesting.
Ok fishbowl family - I need advice. Rising senior 1 here and realizing that I genuinely get no joy out of audit. I’m way too stressed and really do not care about accounting and have made it a life goal to never book a journal entry. I want to take the next year to figure out what my dream job is and go for it. Here’s what I like: I love talking to people, mentoring & teaching, organizing, learning. I literally loved everything in college- I was between majoring in accounting or psychology. 1/X
Recommendations for psychology books that cover a number of ‘high-level’ topics? I’d like to learn more about human behavior- why people make the decisions they do, why drives purchases, addictions, etc. -not looking for in-depth science heavy reaources
Best Marriott property for vacation in Paris?
Would it raise a red flag if my Uber is 100??? I'm flying into another airport and don't really know whether it's okay. Expenses typically aren't an issue on my project but I'm concerned of red flags
I have been with my company for about 2 years almost now and i recently switched teams and have been crushing it for about 5 months. When should I tell my new bosses I’m ready for a promotion?
No promotion at year end but in SOW, projected as a SA. Is it ok for the firm to make more money out of me when I'm not a SA but an associate.
What's current IB VP comp at Street?
Moms, is there anyone here who took a 'shorter' mat leave after their first kid was born? I'm in Canada, and most of my peers took the entire year off. I think I'll want 6 montnmhs at most, while husband takes the other 6. If there are no health complications for me, he's onboard with the plan too. What I'm looking for is advice around what kind of efforts does a 6 mo baby need? Can it be done while I'm working from home, and husband is the primary caregiver?
Any suggestions for classroom management? I push in and pull out - when I push in to the classroom the kids are well behaved.. it’s when I pull them out is when they start to get all silly!
Hey all - upcoming interview with Amazon for supply chain program manager role. Anyone who has gone through the process have some wisdom to share in terms of questions to expect? Thanks for your help!
Do I get an MBA? Already have two engineering masters degrees from a top 10 university and a few years of job experience. I found out our firm pays lower without an MBA, even after promotion...
Thoughts on moving offices as a new senior from a big market to smaller? Are there significantly different implications on your career (experiences or compensation)? How is the process?
Household total compensation is around 290K, no kids. We are thinking on moving to Philly, how much can we afford to spend on a house? Realize that it will likely vary based on neighborhood
I have roughly 1.5 YOE at a top 10 firm, half in audit half in TAS, no CPA. I’ve applied to and received referrals for pretty much all big 4 and other 10 firms. For the ones who gave me a phone screen or first round interview, I was told they’d like me to have more YOE before considering me. Yet I see folks on here with 1.5 YOE in just audit getting senior roles in TAS at these same firms. I believe I’m personable and decent at interviewing. Any ideas on why I’m not getting any offers?
A buddy of mine got a Tile from Marriott for being Platinum Premier Elite. I'm PP Elite, didn't get anything?
Take a break from this crazy world and curl up with a good book! Not something you have to read, but something that you want to read because you chose it. Take your brain and imagination on a wonderful vacation to fantasy land. I'm doing some time travel to get away and dream. I hope you try it. Here's to coping skills!
How often do companies you interview with reach out to your current firm/team/managers about your performance? (Wondering if I need to take this into account as I start recruiting for tech jobs)
