This is my third year living in New York! I think something that I wish I knew earlier was the size and ease of transportation from some areas.

I would personally recommend looking for living in boroughs like
- Brooklyn
-Queens
-Bronx

Some areas in these boroughs are way lower in rent than Manhattan and could easily get you to your job with one train ride.

A commute may help you save thousands a year. This hopefully could get you paying your own mortgage instead of rent
