Anyone have any female solo trip recommendations? I have a short time off before starting something new and would like to take advantage of it, but finding all my ideas completely booked out during this busy season. I’m looking for something a little bit more relaxing and nature-y . I’m also coming from Portland so would prefer not to fly for 5 hours.
I’ve done solo places like Hawaii, Sedona, Seattle, LA, DC, New York, Boston. Looking for more Hawaii or Sedona style
Any suggestions ?
I went from L5 to L6 in two years. Possible with a lot of hard work, on the right projects that have high business impact and most importantly the support of your manager and directors around you. It was tough though. Same old adage of “you get promoted because you’re already performing at the next level”. Getting promoted at google is tough
Like the prior poster said, titles don’t show levels at google. We can edit our own titles on moma
Promos dont impact your day job. Basically do the same thing, but spent forever doing a promo packet, and a pay rise that is probably below market standards. Google plan to announce changes to perf and promo soon. Perf will be disconnected from compensation and promo.
Average time to promotion from L5-L6 is 3 to 4 years. 1 year is very very unlikely, 2 years is possible but you'll have to be very intentional about your career goals when you start.
Titles don't matter and are made up. Managers and senior managers can overlap on levels depending on the org.
