I have a friend I might be able to ask. What questions do you have?

I was going to say that's a niche business, then I remembered what year we're in. Does the industry have unique HR requirements?

No, sorry

What a specific field of concentration...

Gave interview at Microsoft back in June for a SWE role. Cleared all 4 rounds and got verbal confirmation, documentation mail etc but after that they just vanished. Recruiter never picked up calls and no response from them.

Has anybody had a similar experience like mine even at FAANG level companies?

Anybody here lived (and thrived) through this scenario: 1. House won't sell because those who love it are daunted by the necessary updates (electrical panel/60 amp service, two outdated bathrooms, plumbing not up to code) 2. Take house off the market after six months of consistently lowering price ($45k). 3.Get a home equity loan to fund the updates. 4. Find great tenants to rent the house for 2-3 times the mortgage to pay back loan and take care of elderly family living expenses elsewhere.

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

We made it to the weekend, HR fam! Or in my case, barely made it 😂😬. What are you doing to take care of yourself this weekend? I’ll go first: quiet evening with my husband tonight - may visit a brewery. Then some much needed time in nature tomorrow. We carry heavy burdens for our orgs, often without having a safe place to share our own burdens. I’m cheering all of you on as you make work better every day ❤️

Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.

Hi I’m looking to make a career change. I’m looking for HR Program/Project Manager roles. I have 8+ years of experience in full cycle HR and project management.

In my Current role I’ve developed and managed two large training programs, one of which was awarded a $1.4M grant, and both have been a great success.

Does anyone have any remote leads they’d be open to referring? My background involves government and healthcare and I’m proficient in JIRA and am open to other industries. Thanks!

I have been working at a new company for about 3 months now. While I have tried to adjust to the new environment, I have struggled immensely as I have a largely unavailable boss and the company culture is much more hierarchical and stress inducing than I anticipated. If I left, would it be difficult to find a new role? Would the 3 month blip just be too glaring for recruiters? For context was at my last company for almost 4 years.

I9 verification support needed:

Can an employee use a Virginia Criminal Justice Agency Offender Information Form for the i9? USIC website says “The ID document listed first in List B does not have to be a driver's license - it can be any government-issued ID card, even a parolee's ID card if the date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address are on it.” But it’s a certified FORM not ID card. Thoughts?

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.

Anyone else hit a point where you were ready to leave the HR world too? I did… I acted. Sooo glad. I feel relief, freedom, excitement again! Resigned from an upper level mgmt role last month. Burned out, miss being independent and tired of the HR industry stigma and lack of appreciation at my company.
So I’m leaving it & going into an industry that allows me to be 100% remote, earn 3-5x as much and help others do the same.
Anyone else make this shift or choose self emp?

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
