Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.
Hey all. I'm hiring a Jr AD to come work on Jameson and Panda Express and a bunch of other stuff. Lots of digital and social things, video, some print and outdoor. Send link to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thx!
How are Asians ok with being discriminated against in both higher education and hiring? I am a URM and I know that if I was put into a position like them I wouldn’t be so quiet about it.
I romanticized being a consultant while working in industry. Then I got a consulting job, a couple promos, and now the idea of consulting just makes me roll my eyes. I love the pay and I don’t mind working hard, w/ long hours, but the “business of consulting” is exhausting (e.g. maintaining utilization, selling engagements, 6k iterations of a deck, etc). Great company, great co-workers, and interesting engagements.... I can’t be the only one feeling this way. Time to exit or is this a phase?
Hiring manager during first round at Facebook said let’s move you to the next round (s), and that was early last week. Since then no word from the recruiter. Is that weird ? Or did they find someone better ? Followed up this week, but nothing. This is what ghosting looks like then🙄
Got hit up by a recruiter for a position I'm actually (for once) interested in. The only thing is that I know the people running the business quite well. What do I do?
Accenture hiring for multiple skills, please share resume to email@example.com Note : Experience should be 2.5 years in an IT industry and not applied before till 6 months. Share this post...may be in your contact, someone desperately need it.
Are paid interview prep bootcamps worth it? I see programs that charge hefty sums like 5% of your new salary, but only if you land the job you want. They aren't worth it for lateral moves but could they help me exit consulting to an amazing tech product role?
Any litigators who prefer litigating over clerking, or the other way around? I’m senior at a major appellant-side litigation firm. My boss has told me that there is a clerkship opening with a federal judge that I admire, and with his rec I would be a shoe-in. I like litigation and the opps it provides to drive change in the law, but this opp could open up some doors and give work life balance. On the other hand, I don’t know if clerking might be boring, or frustrating reading bad briefs. Thx!
What are the exit opportunities for financial due diligence? How different it is from normal audit work? Heard the pay is better than normal audit job not sure if that’s true.
Do you stay at a good firm with a good reputation where you are siloed in a back office role with no growth or go to a lesser known firm with less track record and opportunity to learn and grow? I’m in an extremely operational role and want to leave but the benefits down the line could be grand. How do you evaluate a decision like this?
Anybody have a view on comp range + breakup (base + RSUs + variable etc) for the Regional Strategy and Ops Lead role at Google in Dublin and London?
This recruiter is pushing for industry manager positions based on my experience but I don't feel ready for it. Im currently a senior 1. Will it look bad if I decline a manager position just because I don't feel ready?
Hello People , can anyone refer me at Deloitte? If yes please IB so that i can share the JOB ID for which i want referral Thanks in Advance!!
Windows vs Mac laptop choice for the future business ops exit? I have never used a MacBook, but it may be a chance to finally transition and try something new?
How long does it take to hear from Google with a referral for a non technical role? I applied ~ 4 weeks ago as of tomorrow and the job I applied to isn’t up anymore and I applied within three business days of it being up. I’m just trying to see how long it takes to hear a rejection because that’s probably what it is. For FB, I heard within a week for a rejection when I applied for a referral about ~1.5 weeks.
Little bit miserable in my current role and wondering if the grass is greener. I work exclusively on commercial due diligence projects, and want to know if my hours are typical: Monday - Thursday: 9am - ~midnight, Friday: 9-5, weekends totally off. Is this typical or does my group have unusually tough hours?
Anyone able to comment on the qualtrics technical account manager role? Got an offer but it feels low and is lower than what I’m making now. I’ve heard great things about the company, and loved the people so struggling with my decision.
I’m a current intern (extended from summer) whose signed an offer, then got an offer from another firm (so going midsize to Big 4), how do I go about telling them and can i break a contract like that?
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
Bain: can someone please tell me what the “hiring exercise” entails as part of the interview process?
Hi slalom folks. What's your current PTO given and 401k contribution by the company. Do you ever get big raises since I heard most of you stay at "consultant" level. Example big 4 and ACN will cont

I have an opportunity to take over the 401k at my credit union and was thinking about getting this as it seems like it could be done pretty quickly and may pay dividends in the future.
Does anyone working in M&A Post Merger Integration, OCM, or Transaction Support have any thoughts on PHR (Professional Human Resources) certification? Worth pursuing?
Do you have a place where you're able to lock up your stuff in your classroom? I don't and I'm not sure if I should make a big deal about it.
Say you’re offered a job that pays $325K, and you can work anywhere within the U.S. (remote job & team with occasional travel to meet team). Where would you live and why? Obviously “it depends” just curious to see the range of responses from this group!
Interviewing for a Senior Consultant role at Deloitte for a role in Risk and Financial Advisory - Controllership. Seems to be mostly accounting/finance transformation work. I’m currently making 100k base at EY as a a senior 2. What should i ask for?
I have a job, and I’m grateful that I do! But it makes me extremely unhappy. I’m talked down to constantly, our client treats us like we’re dumb and they have no trust for the creative team, and I’m constantly anxious. How do I find a new gig during these (forgive me for saying this) unprecedented times? Or what do I do/say if I want to switch accounts within my agency? I need some advice from other women who’ve been through this and succeeded at finding something that makes them happier.
Agencies need to change to survive. We need key people to execute fast and furious in every department. We need to operate like startups but agencies keep hiring lazy, non-passionate people. Why?
Gender Issue: someone in my family (Father 🙄) keeps iterating on the issue, that woman should never be allowed in to lead positions. Can't deal with it but have to start yelling at him. Anyone h
